question for all you heroin veterens

since i have never done heroin i am really curious about a couple things. what is the feeling it gives you? is it like vicodinX10 or is it a completely different experience? what other drug could it be most compared to? also say if vicodin or oc is extracted/cooked then shot would it be the same feeling?

Having never done oxys, or Vicodin, I can only go by what I've been told, and what my pharmocological research tells me.

Since heroin is a strong opiate, much like the pills, the experience is similar.

I don't recommend crushing up pills and booting them up, unless you really know what you are doing. And if you really know what you're doing, you usually won't hit up pills anyway.

As Peripat mentioned I definitely recommend you don't even consider injecting pills unless your familiar with and have access to micron filters. Anyway since herion, oxycodone, and hydrocodone are all opiates the feeling is definitely similar. The feelings are definitely still different though, and I think heroin gives the best rush when injecting. After the rush the resulting euphoria is somewhat different depending on which drug. A lot of people I know say oxycodone actually makes them feel somewhat energized while hydrocodone makes them feel more groggy or sleepy. Heroin definitely makes one feel groggy, and personally for myself heroin is by far the best. Also keep in mind that if taken orally your much better off with oxycodone or hydrocodone as the oral bioavailability is a lot higher then that of heroin. So don't bother eating heroin only inject, snort, or smoke it. Hopefully that helps a little bit I am sure some others will chime in as well.

i wasnt planning on shooting any pills, i was just making an example to try to figure out how the feeling of heroin is different/same. it just seems that heroin has got to be 100x stronger than any pill i have tried judging from ppls descriptions of it, or is it just the quick rush obtained from the injection of it?

Yes generally speaking heroin is much stronger then any pill with the exception of dilaudid and a couple of others. The most intense rush is definitely from injecting it, although there is also a smaller but still very nice rush from snorting or smoking it as well.

something about lipid barrier solubility helps create a strong rush by generally making the opiate able to cross the blood brain barrier quicker. heroin, and dalaudid especially create a strong rush. buprenorphine without the naloxone is a very quick acting IV opioid as well. buprenorphine didnt seem to be as strong as heroin or dalaudid, but just 400 micrograms of bup and I felt a very clean feeling clarifying bump of energy. I love the dalaudid rush, it felt like a mixture of cocaine and heroin to me, without the paranoia or ringing in the ears. It would feel as if my arms and legs would blow off of my body...in a good way. the downside is that dalaudid lasts for a shorter period of time, but then maybe that just makes a person more able to enjoy shooting up more, for awhile. chasing the rush is a fools game, and generally unavoidable .....then the rush simply becomes more relief and less pleasurable as the addiction worsens, and finally you are just able to get up and move around and get some things done after a shot. I am NOT saying that I am not a fool, I chased the rush for awhile, but I am more into the long term high than a quality rush, so drugs like morphine or tramadol make more sense for me to persue. I am wondering what type of effects shooting so much sucrose/sugars mixed in heroin contributes to the rush, niacin as well contributes some strange effects...and small amounts of strychnine are sometimes found in heroin as a rush "component" strychnine used to be added to all sorts of medicinals and is a stimulant at low doses, well tolerated by humans at the right dosage(see nux vomica). the first time I shot heroin, was the first time I did heroin ,felt like a ton of bricks closing in on me and I couldnt remain consious for more than 2 or three minutes for hours. I had the shot administered and a minute later sweat literally soaked my shirt, the whole expereince for the most part was dysphoric and too much. so the first rush I experienced IVing drugs wastn really that great, I learned to appreciate the rush more as time went on, maybe having an ordeal experience initially made it easier later on to give up the IV rush, perhaps the experience was imprinted in a way that mad ethe rush not so substantial to my psyche. The rush is a control tool in some aspects, the feeling of control of doing that shot and owning those few hours....the control over sickness, feeling horrible one second and 4 second later its like blood has been pumped into an empty shell.
