so everymonth i get a script of 100 ug. patches and a bottle of 120 15mg roxis for bt pain. being roxis are still hard to comeby in ny sytate for some reason i had to go to 7 different pharm's. so the last one i go to had everything i needed i waited and picked up the script. i was so sick i ran to the first bathroom i found and started to prep a nice shot. get everything ready and started to break up the pills... to my suprise i gat 120 malli 30's! SO needless to say that really made my day, so here's the only question left to be answered. i got home and saw that the pharm called and left a message, they asked for me to call them as soon as possible and nto not take any of my medication. i naturally ignored them but i wanted to know what potential problems could come up with me and the pharm next time i go to drop off my next months supply. if anyone could answer that i would greatly appreciate it. Hope everyone is having as "sick" of a day i am... "pun intended" :D

sounds like you should call them back and say you already took whatever amount you took without realizing they were a different dose and go get them exchanged. You are likely using someone else's medication and I'm sure it won't look good to ignore them.

However you could always say "omg somebody took my bottle!!" or something. I'd just go to the pharmacy and be cooperative so that they like you. It might work in your favor in the future.

not to mention you're just going to raise your tolerance and possibly start getting desperate and acting like an addict to your doctor etc.

Do the right thing.

Be happy you got your first good hit from it, then turn it in and become a trustable person with them. Its a win/win situation for you if you do what they ask.

Call them back and with tears in your voice say " You found my meds, I have been going crazy looking for them I thought somebody stole them or I set them somewhere" Thank God

Agree with the other posters ---- probably not what you wanna hear but.... IMHO.....yeah, most definitely do the right thing - tell them you took a few (however many) doses before you noticed they were wrong, and then saw they had left a message. The longer you hang on to them, the more doses are gonna be gone! !

They already know they gave you the wrong meds (& if someone maybe got your 15's - You know THEY called!) So it's quite easy for the pharm to figure it out.

So not to sound like a bitch but DEFINITELY call them back and make it right - I don't think they can do anything with them once the bottle is opened but I bet they won't let you keep them... and they sure won't let you keep 'em once you exchange for the corrrect ones.

Yes, it was their mistake (and a bad one for them - good for you in the very short run).... but you can't put a price on having a great relationship with the pharmacy. It sounds like this might not even be your regular pharmacy (having gone 7 places to fill due to the shortages.....) but still......

Sorry, but bad stuff may come your way if you don't return their call.

As far as "what would happen next time you come in?" Well, by then I would bet they'd have already called your doctor to explain what happened and tell the Doc. they called you but you didn't call back. That would be kinda shitty for you. So in the long run.........

I guess I'll be the devil on your shoulder, whispering evil into your ear. Feel free to completely disregard this, if its irrational and dangerous, but its probably what I would have done.

You said you checked with seven different pharmacies before you found one with roxis. Well, couldn't you just keep all the pills, and never go back to that particular pharmacy again? The worst that could happen, IMO, is they call your doctor and say they made a mistake. but by the time your doctor gets in touch with you, you'll have a cpl more days of double dosage. And if its ever an issue, you could say your phone's been broken and doesn't receive msgs anymore.

It will almost certainly look highly suspicious. So its important to make sure your doctor trusts you enough to believe it was an honest mistake. And even then, you have to weigh the benefits of more drugs, with potentially blowing a good thing. And you might not be able to go back to that pharmacy again. So it might come back to bite you in the ass. No, it will come back to bite you in the ass...it always does.

Again, I don't think this is necessarily a good idea, just what would be going through my mind in a similar situation. Then again, I got into a shit ton of trouble back in the day...so what the fuck do I know.

I like Dirt Idea with a twist when you call your Doc you tell him what happened but you didn't know the difference between 15 an 30 didn't read the label but Doc I couldn't believe the effect, my pain was completely gone I never felt that kind of relief, is it possible that he rewrite the script so you could continue useing these the relief was remarkable. Never have you been completely without pain and Doc I was so happy then to find this isn't mine, you got the idea.

I would probably end up giving them back, only because one month of extra pills isn't worth possibly never getting them again....Unless the call from the pharmacy was to congratulate for winning their grand prize for the one millionth contestant in their oxy give away

i would call them back from a different phone number and tell them you are on vacation, in like florida or somethin and you wont be back for 2 weeks, so by the time you get back alot of them will be taken

You should call soon and mention you took a flight out of town for The Labor day weekend and that you didnt realize they were a higher dosage until you were taking your dose when you got picked up in your destination, sound upset, and sound worried about the mistake, tell them that your going to take your regular dose becuase you have to unelss they want to pay for you to fly back immediatly and reimburse you for the trip, you should get your whole bottle back and about 5 days worth of free roxi's..

Also mention you always make sure to have at least 2-4 of the previous script left over when picking up a new one so you have a reason and alibi of why you didnt immediatly dose that day.

see if this works for you

I think this is a great idea and probably what I would do. Take the pills back to the pharmacy saying "oops, I didn't notice that they weren't the right ones" then call your dr and say how much better your pain relief was and hopefully he/she will up your dose.

Good luck w/whatever you decide to do.

Just tell them that you didn't get the message next time you see them. That's all there is to it. They can't do anything since they gave them to you. It's their problem now. They can't deny you the meds next time for THEIR mistake. And no...don't tell your doc that you want a higher prescrip unless you want to be suspected of drug seeking behavior. You can complain you are still having pain on your regular dose, but don't tell him you took meds that you weren't supposed to.

Similar thing happened to me, They gave me 200 oxy 30s instead of 15's once. at the end of the month(after I took them all) I called my doctor and the pharmacy and said that the numbers didn't match the bottle. I claimed I put them into a weekly/monthly container that separate from a script bottle.

I asked my doctor if I could have had any major issues from this happening with the screw up in med, He told me my tolerance would be slightly higher now and had to re prescribe me to 200 30s a month =)

The pharmacy was very apologetic, Saying they were extremely sorry for the mix up. Once I had shown up with the empty bottles they were very relieved, They had one of those health people there who investigates missing narcotic one of the employees was on suspension for suspicion of theft and I felt pretty bad. Even though I love oxy, If I could have done it over again I would have brought the bottles back immediately.

I must admit though, Opening my script bag to see 2 blue bottles instead of green and going "what the hell? is this a joke?" then opening them up to check for a safety seal i literally hopped into my car and sped home happy as hell not thinking of the poor pharmacist who would've never had any chance of working in that field again,
