Had a buddy of mine tell me he was going over to a friends house to trade him some of his adderall for his other buddies script of kpins. I assumed that since the other party would be trading him something, that he would be in the clear. He told me the guy was a little sketchy, kept wanting to buy meds off him so I just told him to stay away. Anyways, he calls me back saying his boy had a couple patches to trade too, so my buddy ended up going over and doing the switch/swap. I knew the guy personally, so I know its all good, but theoretically, would there be any way LE could set something up to where he set him up or would be be safe since they were "swapping" meds, and it wasn't just him going and selling. I hope you guys can understand the question I'm trying to ask.

Thanks.

There is no way in Hell's Half Acre that any law enforcement agency is going to provide someone with one of the most potent opioids on the planet to freely abuse just to make a felony arrest later. If it was gonna' go down, it woulda' went down right there. Imagine the liability if someone buys patches from a "controlled" snitch, the police let dude walk with the product, and later they find dude greyish-blue and cold.

If you're worried about a "controlled buy" or whatever, don't be. If a "reverse buy" is going down the pigs gotta' arrest their target in possession of the drugs. They can't let someone use or introduce that shit into the community. Nor can they furnish their rats with dope. What's purchased has to be accounted for.

as for legality, this would qualify as illegal distribution of prescription (or something like that, can't remember the exact words)

besides, a trade is still a transaction, therefore commerce, therefore qualifies and a sell/buy

^ However it should be noted LE are required not to let more controlled substances hit the street. So if he traded once and got away with it I wouldn't worry too much.

Although they don't always follow the law either so...
