Ok, so swim has a friend who is a chronic pain pt going to PM. Swim's friend ran out a week early and could not find any of their prescribed meds on the street as is the usual case when this happens. So swims friend had to do what she had to do, and went and copped some H. Now swims friend gets randonly drug tested as part of the pm contract. It doesnt happen that often, and she thought she would be safe this month. Swims friend did about 7 bags the night before iv, and then snorted one the morning of the appt around 10am. WHen swims friend got to the appt, they had her pegged for a screen that day. THe screen was taken about and hour and a half to two hours later. Now, swims friend copped a few of their regular meds the day before, so that will come up in the screen. However, what will the H come up as? And keep in mind, according to swims friend, this isnt one of those cheesy panel tests you get at a drug store. The piss is sent out to a lab which analyses the drugs very carefully. What will H show up as? Swims friend need the scientific/medical minded OP's out there to help out with some info. Is is metabolized into codeine and Morphine, and is there a way to tell that is was H? If the prior is the case, then swims friend is going to simply say she was sick over the weekend with a bad cough, and that she drank some cough medicine to get rid of the cough. However, if it comes up as H what do people suggest swims friend try to play it off? Swims friend has a perfect compliance record for almost three years, and has never had any issues whatsoever with the doc, program, or prior tests. Please help swims friend out with some advice as her life will fall apart if she loses her PM. Please let swim know what you can.

if the test is detailed enough, there's no way to pass H off as anything else. it'll come back with a metabolite (6MAM, i believe) that is exclusive to heroin alone. sorry.

"heroin can be best identified by the presence of the distinct heroin metabolite called 6-O-monoacetylmorphine (6-MAM). The new NIDA guidelines require testing for the 6-MAM metabolite in urine. However, heroin is metabolized quickly in the body, so 6-MAM’s presence can only be detected through a urine test on the same day that a person used heroin. This makes the likelihood of identifying heroin users through urine testing very poor. But 6-MAM is identifiable in the hair for months.
She prob would of been fine had she not done the bag that morning. Otherwise it just would of come up as morphine and codeine...
Yep like JM says 6-AM is a unique marker for H use in urine screens.
I get random UA's.
Usually I never have to worry..........being very careful not to fuck up.
But.........one time I slipped up and did 150mg. IR morphine the morning before my appointment.
Sure enough........I had a UA.
I sweat it for a month until my next Dr. visit.
Everything turned out ok.
So there's a chance..........
