The Paregoric Man

I mean seriously, for me quiet and under the radar is the only way to go. Some people seem to assume if everyone is openly doing it standards will change accordingly, it seems to me the only thing that changes is a larger backlash and crackdown!
So really what does everyone here think? Seems like all the changes in medical practice related to opiates came about from open rec use or celebrities bringing attention to a particular drug.
I remember a Canadian guy saying how widespread "doda" poppy pod use was and how open it was meant there would never be a crackdown, oopsy!
For me I have never seen open shameless rec use of opiates ever change societies mores, it just creates a backlash.
Thoughts?
