I was hoping to pull off a cold water extraction of OTC codeine products during my stay in Canada. Does anybody know of an effective method?

That is the best one I have come acrossed on the net... if done properly you can realize over 90% yeild, that is good by anyones standards. If you are going to be using the Canadian OTC Codiene pills be advised that the Caffiene contained in the pills will make it's way into your final product... although a decent dose of Codiene would only have about as much Caffiene as about 2 cups of strong coffee. I suggest that you check out my older thread titled "Canadian 222s" for more info.

Thanks a lot for the help. 222's? Is that what I should ask for?

222 is the Brand Name and they are also sold as A,C,&C is the generic form... Life brand being the cheapest at about $8 american for 200 pills. They contain 8 mg of Codeine, 15 mg of Caffeine, and 375 mg of either Aspirin or an equipotent amount of Acetaminophen (APAP).

Just a warning: This isn't exactly pleasant. It's not like you end up with a nice pure bit of codeine.
I live in Canada, and I only do this when I'm really sick and desperate, because it's a trade off: nauseous and jittery vs. dopesick.
I've tried many different methods, and sometimes it comes out nice enough that I'm able to function normally, but never nice enough that I feel good. Finding a garden or craft store that sells pods pays off a zilllion times better.

Oh, and use the aspiring, not the acetaminophen. Acetaminophen clumps up a lot more and doesn't filter as nicely.

yeah, not a plesent product for rec use unless you have a low tolerance. GREAT for migraines though.
always had luck copping in Canada... streets seem to be awash with a verry intersting night life, and plenty of tricks to help a gal out... this was Monteral (pardon spelling) and it was Saint Catherines Street (lower end)
I stayed at this dive motel called Hotel De Paris... Next to a Punk Club, Playing a band called "Strung Out"... I figured it was karma... I spent the night among the living dead... but nice people... really
but realy, garlic mayo on fries

listen to phlucks advice...we in the great white north know it all too well...
ask for some norflex while you're at it. not the extra strength - the only "extra" is asprin. they're otc (tho some medi plus' have been selling packs of 8 for $10.00 on the shelf in the back ache aisle) and shouldn't be more than .60/pill. they're 12 hour time release, crush 2 up and throw 'em down yer hatch with yer cwe wash...if you've low tolerance it'll knock you on your ass.
