this plant t. undulata, otherwise known as Becchete to the Matses/Matis tribe, a hunting medicinal that is used directly in the eye.

apparently this plants main alkaloid is ibogaine...
this is very interesting, and is a recent ethnobotanical discovery.

perhaps its just another tabernaemontana species that contains ibogaine...but not in amounts that would allow it to be used out of traditional context, as an alternate uncontrolled iboga substitute.

this type of clumsy associating of different plant medicinals is common in forums like this....people get excited, without considering that expecting two different plants to have the same potential is asking alot of nature.
still, its an obvious thought probably to many that follow this type of subject.

depending on potency, this plant could be interesting, even if it contains only a fraction of the percentage of ibogaine that tabernanthe iboga does.
the plant is legal for trade as far as I know, unless it is endangered..
and there are rumors that it will be hitting the global market as a research botanical in the coming months.

Very interesting........the way it is used to aid in hunting animals is amazing.

And very potent.......a dose lasting days or even weeks.

does ibogaine have any 5-ht3 antagonist properties?

What do you mean it's used in hunting? Are there any optical side effects that would somehow aid a hunter.

I've always found ibogaine intensely intriquing

the milky sap of the plant is dripped in the eyes of hunters.
it stings.

its supposed to clear the mind and the vision.
definitely interesting....
but given ibogaines relative potency....I wonder if there is not some other alkaloids at play here?

apparently the plant is taken orally I think....though I need to source that info again to confirm.

this is one plant that I would start in low doses...in a country where it would be legal to consume ibogaine of course that is....

I think the ibogaine has interaction with the serotonin system...though I dont think it has antagonist properties...

really, the activity of ibogaine at different dosages is so complex....I wouldnt doubt that it does all sorts of different things to different peoples.
