hi
As i mentioned a few days ago i am attempting to cut back on the amount of oxy's i take. I have noticed something and wondered if anyone else ever has. Many times when i've been kicking and finally broke down and got more o.c's, i noticed that even when i was sick as hell from WD's, i would feel almost 80% better once i had some in my hand. This before i ever even took anything. Almost like the mere act of having more of the drug makes me better. So i have been off 2 days again and whenever i feel sick, i go and hold what i have left in my hand and it seems to help immensely. anyone else ever have this exp? where you feel better once you score without actually taking anything yet?

I often start feeling better in the car on the way to score, or when I get the call that he's on the way and will be here in five minutes....funny how much of WD is mental, ain't it?

Yeah.... I think there's a lot of anxiety in anticipation of what you're going to have to go through that makes things worse. I've also noticed sometimes the placebo effect will hit me immediately after snorting or taking a pill, well before it could have hit me.

yeah, this is definitely a true phenomenon, my theory as to how it works is as follows:
So you're going through withdrawal or some intense cravings and need to score badly. Your mind will not let you rest or relax until you are successful. There is no way around this, only a continuess thought process planning a way to score. Uncertain on the who, where, and when, stresses begin to manifest into a sort of dire panic. But persistance paid off this time, and someone is bring some by. Stress, anxiety, uncertainty, they seemed to have taken a hiatus. The psychological process responsible for this rather bold shift in brain chemistry must exsist, we've all experiences this phenomenon. The stress induced by uncertainty, replaced by joy, from success. The anxiety and pain of being on the edge of withdrawal, all seem like relics of the ancient past now. Now that my sweet chemical savior is being delivered upon to me. Ok so this rather common situation is in my opinion a purely psychological process. are the symptoms associated with the psychological relief from the mere knowledge of a fix's inevitability. Any present physical withdrawal symptoms do not disappear but rather I believe the mind masks there intensity with the endogenous chemicals in the brain. The feeling of security alone, knowing that a hit is on its way is all it takes to act as the ultimate placebo leaving you in a comparitive state of bliss over from where you begun.

Though outwardly different, this sort of reminds me of something that happens to me. I don't use any drugs with what I'd call great frequency (usually a few times a month, and occasionally extended binges, typically opiates). I can be totally fine not using opies for somewhat extended periods of time, but if I'm around them, and not on them, I get really panicky, and shake a lot.
It's always hell going to my Grandmother's house (as she has an oxy script). I pace the house all night, the most horrific images flashing through my mind, looking in the medicine cabinent, picking up the bottle, but never opening it (which is not to say that I'd never used her script in the past, but I never would again). When I stay at her place, I never sleep (even if it's a 3 day visit.)
Though yes, this panic does subside to some degree when I've got something in my hand.
