When is da best time to harvest, like cut a plant down an start da drying process....?

My plants always seem more crystal in the mornings, when i take em out of the darkness for their daily dose of spanish sun...Like the trichomes are more prononced, more full....Well the plants i've tricked into buddin that is...

So is there a "better time" to cut?.....Or doesnt it make any difference?......I really learnt a lot dis time wiv da growin, all by trial an error....My trichomes are still milky white, but their gonna be turnin amber soon....

Any tips mucho appreciatted.....

Chop them in the morning, right after they've come out of the darkness. I believe at this time the stored up nutrients are mostly in the leaves, and not the buds. Also, you can leave 'em in the dark for 24 hours or so--some say this increases flavor and resin production, but I've never been able to reach a consensus on that.

out of personal exp. I would have to say morning swim had a decent crop last year and cut half down in the morn and half down that night and once dried for some reason or other the morning batch was a little better but I could be wrong but from my standpoint id say morn

You mean five days without water after the flush, or five days in darkness after the flush? If you let them get dry before the chop, they will dry much slower, which could lead to a harsher smoke. I'd probably chop them with a bit of moisture about them, and let them slow dry. If you mean five days of darkness, that'd probably be overkill--I guess 24 hours does the job fine.

Here's a great forum, specifically the Harvesting and Processing section which I'll link to....right.....here:

Lots of good info there. Do you know about the jar curing method? Basically after they're fairly dry, you put them in a glass mason jar in the dark, opening them once a day for a week, then after that you just let it sit in the jar for about a month of so. This allows the chlorophyll to break down, and really improves flavor/smoothness/smell/potency.

Spain is a hell of a place man, if I'm not mistaken it's legal to grow there--awesome.

dang raz, i know you recently went hiatus, but if you come back, here are the asnwers to your questions... from personal experience.. or SWIMs experience..

best time to cut down is: morning, after a 12 horu darkness cycle. also, sometimes i let them go longer than 12 hours of dark before I chop them down. more like 14-16 horus of darkness for that last cycle before the chop..

best time to chop in general: when the trichs are a mix of cloudy, amber and clear... but depends on other factors like how you like your weed to be.. speedy? couchlock? etc.. i prefer a nice mix of trichomes...

flushing: flushing is fine, but for hydro, i flush for 1-2 days.. for soil, i hear 1-2 weeks.. but depends on the plants. if they are already getting yellow leaves, etc.l then they are already consuming their own stored energy, etc..

good luck raz.. and hope you come back again soon..
