I'm having a hard time dealing with this WD pain in my legs... impossible to ignore at this point. Anyone have any suggestions for this symptom in particular? I just keep curling up in a ball :(
but sleep is out of the question...

Good idea, Clinton! Another idea is muscle relaxers...lots of 'em. At least you might be able to sleep just a little.

I appreciate your suggestions :) but the only one I hadn't thought of is the bananas. Why would that help? Something to do with potassium?
Also, I found a half OC so it went away :D ... but surely not for very long... we love to delay the inevitable don't we? :P

"We love to delay the inevitable don't we?"
Yeah- but sometimes it just gets so bad that you HAVE to do something- even if it's only good for an hour of relief. I've been known to go the the ER with the "flu and a migraine", knowing that they'll re-hydrate me and give me some dilly IV for the headache. I know full well that it's only going to help for a couple hours, but sometimes those couple hours of sleep are all I need to get me through the rest of the kick, ya' know? (I'm not a total whiney baby-but there have been a couple times that between the actual CP and the w/d... I simply couldn't take anymore. I'm ok with one or the other on their own, but not combined...)
I can't offer any advice that hasn't already been given- but good luck and I hope this passes soon...

I have fucken ended up punching my thighs over and over just to stop that crawling, twitching kick that makes me want to go mad... I know that there is a drug that is a specific for RLS, I want to say it's Rozerem or something like that... Lyrica? I don't know. But maybe try to get a script for it for these specific times... I dunno if it helps though. Anyone have any experience with it? Hang in, dude... sometimes walking around is all you can do... hopefully to the dope man's spot.

A better source for potassium would be baked potatoes. Spinach, red beans, and pinto beans are also good sources.

I have found clonazepam to be the most effective benzo for treating RLS.
Any benzo will help you lots though, or soma/flexiril

salt, sodium, electrolytes, pick one... also potassium, as in bananas as clinton said... also don't forget (and i hate to encourage this) alcohol is a CNS depressant.
suck it up man. if you're that far you're moving forward don't give up now.

The best thing for rls in my opinion is Ambien.. Its documented online (don't have the link but a simple search will bring it up).. This was a life saver for me paired with tramadol.. Good luck!

No, ambien by itself works great for rls... I avoided severe wd's with a combo of the above and tramadol. It was a LIFEsaver!
Whatever you do don't take diphenhydramine (tylenol PM or most OTC sleep aids) as it can make RLS way worse....trust me. god i don't even want to think about it.

I have had minor relief with calcium/magnesium tablets. Tramadol helps A LOT too. A heating pad + massages can ease off the relentlessness of it all. Take care.

bleh once again... i'm only 5 hours without being high and i'm having serious WDs... this kick is really gonna suck.
I have an OC I could eat... but I feel like I need to stop running away from the WDs :( the RLS is starting pretty bad already... I'm surprised how bad it is now and really wonder what this means for 3 days from now if I actually don't take anything
how does otc sleep aids make it worse?
the sedating anti-histamines have a side effect of akathisia (restless legs/limbs) that normally doesn't happen unless you take a really high dose, but during withdrawal the sensitivity towards it is greatly increased. it doesn't happen with everyone, but once is enough to never touch diphenhydramine during withdrawal again. i had it in the entire left side of my body, with my chest being the worst.

MY RLS was terrible last night. Only got about an hour of sleep. Day 4 of no opiates.. cant wait until this evening so I can score some goodies.

Alotta times if i had ONE oc i would save it for those nights when i was floppin around in bed like a fish outta water. Break it up into tiny pieces and just take tiny bits til a bit of relief is felt.
Eventually tho...u gotta kick.... can u get sum subs???? It would help u SO much! A quick taper with those and it might not be too bad of a kick....????
Well i hope today finds u in a better way!

Yeah thats def the best way to do it.. wait till day 3 and take something. Rest of your kick isint so terrible (at least for me). But my junky mind tells me to do all the drugs when I got'em. Literally cant sleep for shit when I know theres a loaded syringe next to the bed for my morning shot!
