oxy's don't work for me anymore

This is my first post . Background on med's just over a year . Roxicodone 30 mg. Age 25 height 6'2 weight 250 .I finally got a script for 100 a month about 5 months ago. that was just to help. I go through about 100 a week ,atleast. But for the last 3 months I get nothing from it. I've taken 15 and 20 at once and get NOTHING from them. nothing works I've tried benadryl, proglumide, hydroxyzine,dxm,ect. I'm thinking of getting off to reduce my tolerance. It's just too high. I chew 7 oc 80's at once. And swallow them with grapefruit juice. Nothing. Also I have a bottle of methadone hcl 10 mgs. about 75 of them. Should I use them to kick. any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is tollerance. The only way to reverse it is abstenance; but that would involve kicking. I guess you could take stronger meds, or more of them, but then tollerance will get even worse; as well as the kick.

:) Two things:
1- Methadone has an ingredient in it that acts as a "buzz killer" of other opiates. So either use, or treat the addiction with Done.
2- Have you tried snorting the OC? It works much better that way.

hey jab how long of abstinence to affect my tolerance. do you think 30 days? and dee I have snorted i actually got a better high from chewing them up, plus some benadryl and tagamet.

Be very fuckin careful with naltrexone, from what I understand it will throw you into w/d's even harder. I mean if your already in w/d, maybe you can speed up the process by taking a couple of em and getting the w/d's done quicker.

As for the methadone, you think w/d's are bad from Oxy, Ohhhhh Mannnnn, just try and fuck w/ the Done, that shit will make you wanna go to the fuckin hospital from the w/d's. 30 days probably wont do much for tolerance, I mean it will bring your tolerance down a bit, but not as much as you would think.

In my experience, your tolerance does not reduce very quickly... i mean even if you stay off for a month, you will still need industrial strength amounts to get a buzz- yes it will be slightly lower (your tolerance that is) but within 2 days you will be right back where you started from or worse.

Also, IMO anything that brings on w/d is to be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. If you are seriously wanting to quit try suboxone for a taper and jump off, or methadone only for maintenance if you plan on continuing with it indefinitely.

If you just want to lower tolerance to go right back to the euphoric feelings. Try tapering but this is hard to do when all you want is that warm fuzzy feeling, Mother O has beaten many a good MAN.

Man this is probably your LAST and WORST option. You may end up in the hospital, dehydrated, or just feeling like you're gonna die (or worse, wanting to die). But you do have another option, and I have not 'independently verified' this, but I've read ON THIS SITE (use search option) that you can use very small amounts of naltrexone to potentiate your dose.

Please read first, though, as I have no idea how you would do this.

maybe get some tramadols, and use those to avoid w/d and drop your tolerance. i can feel your liver screaming from way over here dude! just a joke, i know how you feel with taking shitloads of pills, although i havent gotten to that level yet

i did read that a trace amount of naltrexone (like 1/100th of a pill) taken with opiates can increase the high feeling/effectiveness by 50%. one of my old posts has the link i can find the site if you are interested. if i had any naltrexone anymore i would try it out and see if it worked.

The low dose naltrexone will make the pills last longer, but they take away the euphoria. what's the point. and it's .001 mgs. taken along with the opiates. maybe I will just taper the oxy over a 3 week period. I'll keep everyone informed on my progress. thanks for the replies

Christ! Yeah, use the methadone to wean down slowly. Things have gotten way out of hand it seems.....

I have seen death, and it looks exactly like a naltrexone pill.

DO NOT take those thinking you will help yourself. Eventually they might keep you from craving, but the wds will go on for at least weeks at your tolerance. Weaning is a far better option.

snorting is much better, and grapefruit juice reduces the absorption of chemicals into the blood stream, you are not suppose to drink grapefruit juice within 3-4 hours before and after taking any medication, the meds just wont work as good

My only question is this. I have been using opies like hydro and oxy for the better part of five years and I can still get a decent buzz from about 100 milligrams of either. How long have you been using to not get any euphoria after taking over 500 milligrams of OxyContin at one sitting?
I don't know if other people have had any luck with this strategy or not, but here goes. I will usually stay on doses of about 150 to 200 mgs for about a week, then stay clean for another week and then go back at it. That seems to have helped keep me from needing to take any more than that to maintain my pain control and/or euphoric feelings. That, and it may just be in my head!

Think and realize somone here definatly can help but tell the whole story, I think I may know but you havnt mentioned it, Im not judging you as I am fucked up too, did you start shooting somthing else??I would say your opiate receptors are being hoged by morph or methadone, and methadone wont let you kick anything, you just switch, oxy and meth are by far the 2 most difficult opiates to come off period, switch to a shorter acting drug.

For anyone intrested i've been weaning down. i'm taking 1 30 mg roxi . every 3-4 hours. sometimes a half. it's been about 5 days and it's going well. i figure in 2 weeks. maybe i can get down to a half a pill per day. I'm not using the methadone. My tolerance got out of hand. that's what happens when you try to get high 2-3 times a day, for over a year. constantly increasing and adding benadryl and shit. I'm also going to be adding 4 grams of l-tryptophan to my diet. I've read on pubmed it can reverse tolerance after 2-9 weeks. worth a shot. if anybody has any suggestions on cleaning receptors i'd like to hear.
