I was on clonopin for....2 - 3 years. 3mg a night (completely dependant for sleep). I take them every now and then now but i have managed to stay away from becoming dependant again. Well i decided to get some diazepam for WD's i have been putting off. I went through a days worth of WD and basicly said "fuck it" and have been mainting very low levels (100mg propoxyphene). Im thinking about buying 20 time release codeine, saving 10 and giving 10 to family member to hide from me(for future use haha). Well whats the big difference bettween these two? I know how hard it is to describe different "feelings" of medicidines but between valium and clonopin..... whats the major difference, is there one? I had taken a single 5mg once (4 years ago) but i dont remember anything special from it. However first time i took 1mg clonopin.... WOW.

Well, if your question is about the difference between valium and Klonopin (I wasn't sure because you also mention codeine), I can tell you how they differ for me. The K-pins definitely have the "knockout effect" for me; if I take one of my 2mg K-pins, down I go, period. 1mg also has me fighting to stay awake.
Valium is way more mellow for me. I get a decent benzo buzz but have no problem staying awake---just maybe a little more wobbly, lol.
I can't remember which category each falls in, such as anti-anxiety, amnesiac, etc..., but there are different classifications. I dunno if any of this helps, sorry if it didn't...:)

Well different people prefer different Benzodiazepines so there is no real answer anyone could give you that would be of much help other than to road test them and see how they work for you. As ZK said, most people find K-pins to be more sedating then other benzos and Valium is generally seen as a weaker more mellow Benzodiazepine. Either way, both of them will be helpful for WDs.

I don't much care for either; my doctor loves to give these out and I find that I have been on them for sooooooooooo long they have no affect on me what so ever, mind you I've never used them with WD's . I like the sleepy calm of benzo's, but if I had a choice I wouldn't choose either! just my preference..........

As for the difference between the 2, I LOVE EM BOTH!!!
But they do have different affects, valium is way more euphoric, and klonopin is way more P-O-W!!! Z_K said it good. I prefer vals cause I get a good well being feeling from them. When if I take a K-pin I feel good for like 10 minutes until I am passed out on my carpet, mouth open wide drooling all over the place like some mental patient.
Actually.......I am a menatl patient, they let me use the puter sometimes here.

I hear ya History, K-pins FUCK ME UP!!
I remember the 1st time I ever took them I was in my room soooo fucked up I didnt need another one but I thought I would anyway. So I pull another one out and I drop it on the floor, I drop to my knees to look for the little guy and next thing I know, I wake up in the morning on the floor mouth wide open, and the second my eyes slowly started to open, I see the K-pin right in front of my eyes, just staring at me with a little grin on its face......like it had won and I.....well I had lost.

Yea clonezpam can induce sleep very quickly. I became near dependant on it for sleep. When i went off after being on it for years.... WOW. Im going to be going through WD"s soon ..... 4 days soon ahha so im trying to find something to take the "edge off". I was thinking about trying to find a catapres patch but it doesnt do to much plus im nervous about buying something like that off the net that i cant verify (like pill id, even though some pills are fakes). However i have a REALLY hard time taking xanax or clonopin during the day, so i thought "HMMM WHAT ABOUT DIAZEPAM!". I have no idea how many i should try to get for minor - medium withdraw from codeine / hydrocodone. Is it about the same as clonopin, you can be on it a couple weeks but after that theres much more risk of dependancy? Or.....

Well, satori, I'll say it agin, man: benzos are an absolute godsend for WDs, for me at least.
Once I'm back on the Subs, I don't feel really ok 'till I have a benzo in me. The two (sub/benzo) are a winning combo IMO for stepping away from heroin for a while. Yeah, the rollercoaster ride of dope-sub-dope-sub does get depressing and old sometimes (right Shaunclo?), but I can't forsee myself changing anything about it in the near future. At least not while I still have money for drugs.
Oh, and our bills are paid, so I don't feel too much like an irresponsible junky scumbag.
Oops, derailed another fucking thread babbling about myself again. Sorry satori.

haha its alrigth zodiac, i have grown to think of you as a family member i know nothing about and dont talk to "offialy". However i have read many of your posts and im guessing you have read many of mine so say what you will :).
Im just trying to figure out a good benzo to stock up on for WD"s. Im thinking the candidate is diazepam now.

I myself love myvaliums/diazpams whatever! I have the blue or sometimes greenish 10 milligram ones and I take a couple evry time I'm beginning to run low on my Morphine and they do help a lil,but the main reason I take them is cuz I became addicted.Without Morphine I'd Have severe w"/d's from valiums ,I mean the w/d's from valiums was the worse thin in my life till I became addicted to Morphine, they are both hard as hell to quit,But whats the old saying "valiums are mommy's li'l helpers" so w/ 3 kids now that I get a script for them its nice to take a couple every now and then and as a tret relax but not to the point that I'm passed out like from Klonipins or Serequel(which I know Is a total different class of drugs) but valiums are great for mommys at their wits end,and I haven't had valium w/d's since I began being strung out on morphine.Damn the pharmacy lady's knockin at the door with my soma.mmmmmmmmmmm I like my Somas too,but for a total different buzz and a different reason, but Somas in the right quanity can be quite an ok buzz, but nothing compared to 10mg. valiums.

I don't think we have soma in canada; I mean I've lived from one end to the other and I have never seen them what are they all about? Something to do with sleep I would assume because of the name..... I wonder when they named that particular drug; if it had anything to do with Aldous Huxleys a brave new world? We could all take it and head to the feelies! something like that!

Soma is a Muscle Relaxent. Its one that has more of a "euphoric" affect (if u can call it that) atleast more so then most other muscle relexants out there.

Yep and the synergistic effects with hydros are pretty outstanding... 10 out of 10 for two or more pills in my O... one of a few magic relationships etc etc. . .

So, I'm assuming that you would need a script? or is it an OTC?

I have a script in the USA but because 60% of my liver is gone they work very well for me I pay $40 for 90 of them at the pharmacy and I have 11 refills at 2 pharmacys but I am on them right now I just took 2 and I have a high tolerance but I love the feeling they give me along with morphine:)

You need a script but they are excellent when you are withdrawing

Sorry to keep buggin' you on this, but would you happen to know the long form name of the drug? 'Cause I was thinking about it and it may be dispensed here with its long form nominclature, in which case I may have tried it(but I'm still curious)......thanks!
