just skimming this thing youll run across interesting opinions..
most of them are leaning towards the negatives of opiate use but every now and the one of the docs will state that the drug has no long term health effects on the body as long as the user maintains a regular diet

a great book written in 1869 about treating opium addicts..it has excerpts by coleridge,dequincey and the like
the last chapter was written by a doc who owned an island that was turned into an opiate rehab..
in several cases he used hash oil on his patients in helping them over come opiate addiction..
this ones a little easier to read...
