Just curious as to how many readers read more than one book at a time. I know you students have no choice and you have your youth besides. But for pleasure I have had difficulty at times reading more than two fiction, as characters and situations have become confusing. Reading a non fiction there is no problem. If this has been a problem that you have overcome let me know how you managed to do it. If this is just my mind and memory and you have no problem let me know, but if there is a method I can learn it would be nice to have three books going at the same time without all the bewilderment.

I start getting plots confused if I have more than 3 or 4 going at once, but generally I can sit down with a paperback or ebook and finish it in a day, two tops if I don't have anything really pressing to do.

All depends. Sometimes I will have two going at the same time, and sometimes just one. I either don't pick one up for a month, or can't put one down for a month. Off and on.

I can and do read more than one at a time. I have a Kindle now and it is almost as addictive as a drug-swear to god! Knowing you can download a book almost anywhere at anytime is the coolest thing......

i normally read about two books at a time, and depending on how many free-lance jobs i'm working, it can be like, five to six books at a time.

I will keep two going and sometimes throw a quick third one in (aka it has big print!). As long as one is fiction and one is like a biography or about a true event, etc then I can keep the two narratives separate for the most part. Although I consider myself a good reader, I actually find that I need to read a book twice to fully understand it. The first time through is too get the names, places and events down, and the second time around is when I start to really discover the hidden goodies or what have you that reading can reveal...

I am a fiend for books... at least three novels going at once, I can get up to six...I don't have the time to read more all at once cause I finish them...

How can you waste so much time reading when there are so many good tv shows to watch?
Usually 1 at a time but sometimes 2 if I'm not that crazy about 1 or both.
You readers think yer soooo smart.
Words...big deal.

I've read up to three books before for "pleasure" I think I really started getting tired of one, started reading it less and then confused the hell out of plots (the third book was political so easier to follow). Now I usually stick to one at a time.

Usually I have at least 3 backburner books that I get into for a bit and then get bored of, moving on to something else. I don't have a TV so it helps to guide me at least in the right direction for entertainment (aside from ridiculous numbers of hours spent on internet drug boards).
And then there are things like Junky, which I tried to pick up from the library, but they closed too early, so I got the eBook version off a certain undernet IRC channel and read that in something like 2 days. All depends on the work, I suppose.
A good question is, for those who do multiple books: how often do you drop books in the middle, or pick them back up after not reading them a while?

I can't keep more than 2-3 books going at once. Just confuses the hell out of me. And I'm old, so it's not hard to do. :p

I want one of those!! It's my next purchase... I'm always reading 3-4 books at a time. My problem is I lose them! I always have one in my purse, car, and by my bed. Wish I had more time to read them though! That's why I need a Kindle..
