propylhexedrine possible by fractional crystallization? Does anybody know? It would be possible I think if the solubility of the l and d forms differ significantly enough at low temperatures. I have a hunch that this isn't the case, sadly. They're probably about uniformly soluble across a broad temperature range.
It's just that there's very little data about propylhexedrine solubility out there, and the data that is out there talks about the racemic compound.
Propylhexedrine is such a tragedy --- it's very euphoric, but abuse is deterred by that god-awful smelling cotton rod. It smells like lavender, menthol, and FISH (freebase amines often do) ... it's profoundly disgusting. I've extracted to get PHX HCl crystals numerous times, but the smell is so nasty that I can't even bear to do an extraction anymore without wanting to puke.
I think ditching the l-propylhexedrine, leaving pure d-propylhexedrine, would dramatically improve the tweak-value of this drug. It's my educated guess that the nasty levo isomer causes a lot of that unpleasant body load and crash and none of the good CNS stimulation. With pure d-PHX you could halve the dose needed and probably reduce the side effects dramatically. I'd guess that if d-PHX existed in any pharma preparation it would HAVE to be CIII at least ... this shit definitely has abuse potential, no matter what the naysayers say. Its euphoria to me is superior to adderall, but adderall has less side effects and a milder crash.
I'm guessing this would not be an easy feat so I'm mostly just fantasizing.
This drug was once used in a diet pill called Eventin -- I believe it was 25 mg of the dextro isomer only. this preparation does not exist anymore (too much abuse potential maybe? PHX is way way more euphoric than phentermine, I can say that much).
