Injuries you sustained while opiated

ok, sometimes i don't have any common sense while opiated. this is a little thing, but it happens all the time to me.

i was podding last nite, watching tv and i have a swiss army knife that i was playing around with. i was cutting my fingernails with it and messing around, accidentally got a cut or two no big deal, had some paper towels until i quit bleeding & obviously no pain.

then i woke up this morning and my fingers hurt like hell, i have band aids on two of them and one on my thumb, i can barely type, i guess i cut myself a lot deeper than i thought, but until i woke up and felt how bad they hurt, i didn't think of it.

then i got to thinking i have done stupider shit like that before, burning my hand & arm on the oven rack many times cooking pizzas. i once tripped over and fell on top of one of those glass coffee tables shattereing the glass , banging shins and toes running into shit, etc..

somebody have a horror story they wanna give about somthing they did on opiates they didn't realize how bad it was till the next day?

the closest i have to hurting myself on opiates was at work once(i try not to do them unless i have nothing to do, or easy tasks.) i had taken some dxm the day before to pump up that dose, and im sure some was still working for me, because the same tea i always make made me nod like crazy throughout the day. i dont usually nod unless i take a HUGE dose or im laying down watching tv. wellone of my jobs to open up for the night is cut hundreds of bagettes of bread. not a good thing to have a VERY sharp serrated knife coming within centimeters of your fingers, at a rate of about 80 times a minute. thank god i didnt cut a finger off the few times my eyelids dropped.

i seriously think ive hurt myself more(at work or not) after smoking some pot. burned lots of times misjudging the distance and size of opening on the pizza oven.

took a huge slice out of one of my index fingers when I reached into my pocket which had a razor in it, bled real fuckin' bad it was funny

The sliced my other hand open in between my thumb and forefinger got 8 stiches in that bad boy. There are more but these required trips to the hospital.

can't say i've sustained any injuries while op'ed, but it was a massive knee injury (from drunken wrestling) that opened the poppy door -- percs, morphine (after surgery), and then lots more percs while recuperating. I've enjoyed them since.

Tore my AC when the quad I was on stopped in a ditch at at twenty five miles and hour and I kept going.
Burnt myself eight-thousand times while at work but it would have happened anyway. Oh and painkillers dont seem to help with the pain a burn causes. Maybe a real high dose.

Besides the normal burns, cuts, sore noses, etc.. not much. But, I did wrench my back a couple times during some crazy monkey lovin w/ the wife while not feeling any pain. Once the cramp hit me it was all over! Luckily it was just after I was done. :D

Yes how can i forget one night after slammin my third 100 milligram ms-contin. I was standing in the bathroom and i had a razor blade in my one hand. Well there i am scrathing the hell out my nose and face with the one hand and what else do i do but i take the razor blade and slice my nose open. Well there i go to the e.r. at 2:00 in the morning bleeding like a stuck pig. I told the doctor i slipped in the tub and hit the metal soap dish with my nose. He could not figure out i fell back and hit my nose. But he felt sorrey for me and sent me home with 20 Percocet. Peace

Re: Keith falling out of a tree, that was only a few weeks (a month?) ago I think he was in Hawaii or some shit and he fell outta fuckin coconut tree or something. How appropriate.

As for injuries, the first / last time I had scored H in a long while I was being a dumbass and playing with my dog in the house, and ran through the kitchen and directly into the door facing / molding - broke 2 fucking toes. And goddam might I had that I had no IDEA those little fuckers could produce so much pain!

After 2 days of trying to 'man up' and just deal with it I broke down and went to the doc. Got 20 fucking 7.5's hydro.

A trip to the docs for a toe-yank and a bandage: $200
A trip to the pharm for my 20 7.5's: $10
2 days of opiated bliss and noddin' and having been clean long enough to feel the bitches: Priceless.

I dont know how it happens but every goddamn day a needle seems to slip its head thru my skin and into my vein, I bleed almost every day. Can anyone tell me why this is happening to me, I am baffled??

Im a complete and total lier, Its multiple times a day. I just dont want to accept it myself. Right now (and its been this way for the last couple of months) I have been hitting a vein no less than 4 x's a day. Sometimes it can get up to 10, but thats when I just get really really bored.

I just cant believe that my veins are so hittable STILL!!! Im not even hitting my arms, cause its a secret only my opiophile friends know, Ive only been hitting my hands, wrists, and elbow area. The best gauge I have come across is the 31 gauge, ultra fine needle. It leaves no marks whatsoever.

The closest thing that I ever did that came close to an injury was I cut the top of my thumb while changing oil...but that was a long time back.......

Eh, there was the time I stepped on the wine glass, but that was before the opies kicked in, so that doesn't count. I remember feeling like I'd had the shit beaten out of me the day after going to a local punk show on opies and alcohol. Once a few years ago I was smoking opium through a glass tube and sort of nodded off, dropping the hot glass on my bare chest (there was a burn mark their for a while.)

I knew a woman in college who had tried to hop a moving train while high, misjudged the jump, and ended up with her hand against the track. She lost two and a half fingers, and was so strung out she didn't even consider picking them up.

I recently broke my ankle and my wrist skating high on dope. Had to get poonwalla to drive me to the e.r.. It sucked, especially now, I got all kinds of nerve damage in my wrist and its about 80% paralyzed. Quack told me it could take up to six months to come back, or it might never come back. Fukin bummer huh?

tore the ligament that holds the thumb in place when trying to seat myself on the floor, after eating a good quantity of pills (can't even remember anymore, were they percs? or maybe MSIR?) it was a while back now, but i still remember hearing the *pop* sound when it happened, and thinkin "ooh, that's gonna hurt come tomorrow." sure enough, in the morning my whole hand was swollen, and i couldn't move my thumb or my first 2 fingers at all. into the ER, a buncha X-rays & other shit, and i get told that the ligament was torn almost the whole way through. but at least i got some good meds! (and about 6 months worth of physical therapy to make my thumb work again) heheheheheheh...... gotta love them pain-killers!
then the very next summer (again, flyin on meds) i was choppin some food for a barbeque, and i cut that same thumb with a VERY large knife, slicing partway through the tendon that runs alongside the ligament that i'd injured..... damn, i think that them fuckin pills have some kinda vendetta against my left thumb! :p
i know that there's more....... i'm pretty accident-prone......... but those 2 were the first to pop into my head.

Tonight after having drank a bit too much tea, I became nauseous and decided to step outside for some fresh air. I was walking down the street with a friend, when all of the sudden it felt like I'd stepped on broken glass. I thought I'd lifted my foot before the shards had a chance to slice through my flesh, but as I discovered later on, I was mistaken.

As I began to sober up I noticed that my foot hurt, and upon inspection, I saw that the pieces of glass in the street had taken a little chunk out of my arch, as well as making an incision less than half an inch away from the scar which remains from the time I stepped on a wine glass and required stitches.
