this question is completely out of curiosity, and more geared towards CP patients, but anyone else that has insight feel free to respond.
is it just me, or has opana/oxymorphone availability (street market) really sky-rocketed in '09? SWIM went from reading all the opana forum posts.. DREAMING about being able to score this stuff.. and out of nowhere (like within a month) 3 of SWIM's main plugs can now get a variety of Opana (ER)'s regularly.. and swim's MAIN lady is scripted #60 40's per month.. selling for $20.
around here, OC usually goes about .50/mg, and i'm guessing thats what shes basing it off of.. but swim's not complaining!! with swim's tolerance (At least 150mg oc to nod) 20 bucks for one of these things are so totally worth it. what do YOU usually pay for opana (per mg) on the streets?
are docs starting to try opana with CP patients as an alternative to OC and other opies of that caliber? i know in order for street market meds to reach SWIM's hands, obviously docs have to be scripting them more often. maybe my situation is different, but i'm lovin every minute of this!

from what ive read, yeah it does seem like there becoming more readily available (on the street) but i havnt seen them since last year when my buddy found a supply bottle of #200 (IIRC) 10mg IR's, and as a show of bad judgment on his part he asked me how much to charge, so i ended up buying 60 of them at $4 a pop, god i can remember it like yesterday... that heavenly pink powder almost made me had an orgasm the first time i snorted 20mg's and chased it witha saturated fat-laced BBQ bacon burger.
if you're gettin 'em in KC I'm damn jealous....for past several years in the KC metro area all there has been is OC as far as pharms go within my network. Still have trouble finding smack, too, but I prefer to hang with the yuppies so it's mostly pharms for me.

Yup...Opanas (around here anyways) are often the first DOC of doctors for pain patients, simply because they just cannot be abused..
AND oxycontin is getting a very bad name lately (just look at those nutjubs with the banoxycontin site), more and more docs are starting to not even prescribe it anymore
I've tried to get high off Opana ER's, and it's a bitch...I pretty much hate opana ER's..they are worthless to me because anyone with a tollerance can't eat them (such low oral bio-a you won't get off) and snorting them blows as well (nasal bio-a is not that much better, AND the shit gells up in your nose!)
It's funny cause EVERYONE gets ERs and NO ONE gets the IRs around here..I would *LOVE* to get an IR and shoot that baby...dreams :-\
As for pricing, I wouldn't pay more than 50 cents per milligram for the ER's and maybe 1$ per milligram for the IRs since they are IVable and easier to snort.

I've never had a problem snorting the ER's and I been doing them almost everyday for the past year and a half. The only problem I have is when my sinuses are too clear, it goes straight down my throat and is wasted :(

Imho shooting one 10mg IR is like snorting 5-6 of the 20mg ER's...the nasal\oral bio-availability just sucks for opana

@ ryan -- are you fucking kidding me???? banoxycontin.com?????? i just went there.. and what a fucking joke!!! there are a lot of hurting people out there that need and cannot funtion without their OC. and they had the BALLS to compare the death rates to 9/11 and the "IRAQ WAR"???? seriosuly.. OH MY GOD that pisses me off. they should have used this quote i found off "Medical prescription" page of wikipedia.. "In the US, medical practitioners' sloppy handwriting kills more than 7,000 people annually, according to a July 2006 report from the National Academies of Science's Institute of Medicine (IOM)"lol. that makes me so mad.
@ lib.sOCialist (http://forum.opiophile.org/member.php?u=5903) -- lucky bastard. i also dream about FINDING a script of any GOOD opiate.. although i would feel bad for the person who lost it. what a dilemma..... but i'm sure the decision of the good majority of people on opiophile can go unsaid.. lol
@ duck -- yeah, all in KC.. actually eastern i-70 burbs if that makes sense. i don't know the specific rules on here about city naming, although it really wouldn't even matter because they are all network plugs, no open air.. so i doubt it'd even matter. i was able to score some tar for awhile, which i scored maybe twice in my entire life... the deal was always such a pain in the ass... always have to drive out to the city, give rides to people, etc... usually took 3 hours all together and even though the prices compared to pharms around here are so cheap. i also would rather deal with the yuppps any day.
my tolerance is DECENT.. like i was saying above, i don't usually get completely loaded until after at least 120mg OC..i know there are WAAAY bigger habits than that, but it's still ridiculous what i pay sometimes to be "high". the lady i cop from actually doesn't find them effective at ALL, and that's why she sells me a bunch for so cheap. she takes them as is (orally, swallows whole) and i'm guessing thats why.. i can't bring myself to pay 40-50 for an eighty when i KNOW i'm able to get high for 25 bucks tops. i gotta keep reminding myself this isn't a normal deal.
sure does seem like it's hit and miss with peoples opinion on effectiveness, and i think a lot of it has to do with oral over insufflated or other ROA, but i just fucking LOVE these little stop signs. i also think the gel isn't as bad as others like the mallinkrot (sp?) or teva OC's. i know a lot of people prefer and need oxycodone, but more power to the docs who are starting to try opana on their CP patients. i seriosuly cannot get enough of these!
Out of curisosity, you said 120mg oxy gets you on the nod pretty well, how much opana ER do you have to snort to get the same or similar effect \ nod?
For me, like I said, I was snorting like 5 or 6 of the 20mg ers (green stop signs) at once and was getting pretty high but it seemed like I had to do alot..then I shot ONE 10mg IR and it was the same with an insane rush...it's just astounding to me how much of this shit gets wasted by metabolism when not injected.

I get scripted Opana 40mg ER 3/day. I take them and do not sell them (I never sell my pills I don't share :))
I do know though that the Opana 40mg ER's in my area go for like $50 (same as OC80) ... I always get offers from friends that know I am on my pills and the things I get offered including money/prostitution are insane.

well, even at 120mg OC wont put me where all of us opiophiles PREFER being... i mean, definitely high, just not where i'd like to be.. maybe 2 eighties can do that for me, although i am on sub and usually don't wait more than 24 hours to dose.. that might have something to do with it.
as far as the opana ER, i can easily get off on 60mg, preferably 80. i'll usually just do a 40, wait 30min-hour or so, and do the rest..but, A.M. is different. if i do 20mg in the morning, i can get pretty decent and work all day without dosing again until after 7 at night.. i LOVE the half life of these little fuckers as well.
off topic, but does anyone else feel like their opiated experiences just aren't the same without smoking some weed, even a little bit? i personally feel like even a HIT ten-twenty min after onset really just rounds the everything out. for me, without it just doesn't feel the same.. i'll almost always pick up a bit of ganj along with my opies. random.. haha
IM the opposite, weed ruins my opiate experience, along with benzos.
I'm a "purist" you could say...only thing that I like with my opiates is cocaine (IV or freebase) :D

I am long time CP patient and got switched to Opa. about a year ago.
I take them orally and they work fine for me. 40 mg. ER does what 80mg. to 100mg. of Oxycontin. did for pain relief. IMO the main difference is, the Opa.'s work 12ish hours and the Oxy's only worked 8 to 9 hours. I think the time release system is MUCH better than Oxycontin. I realize other people may NOT like the TimerRX system, but I do.
I don't think the Opa.'s cause as much euphoria as Oxy does, when taken orally. I can't really feel much except the pain goes away with the 40mg. ER. If I take 10mg. of the IR, I can feel that and it is euphoric like Oxy. I take a little less than prescribed most days and a few days per month, I take a bigger dose and it feels pretty much like Oxy. if the dose is large enough.
I am probably not a good judge of euphoria. I have been a pain patient 20 years and I blew my tolerance out of whack in the late 1990's.
At my pain clinic they took almost everyone off Oxy. around 4 years ago when all the publicity hit. There were 10 anethesioligists at this practice. I heard the sheer volumne of Oxy those guys prescribed was drawing attention, plus lawsuits from accidental OD's. Most of the patients are mid-50's and disabled or older with serious pain problems. All of the clinics offices, are located in or beside hospitals, so this is a solid mainstream clinic -- and probably a good representation of what the top doctors in pain medicine are prescribing. The anethesioligists seem to rotate from a pool of 40 or 50 doctors.
They schedule everyone for monthly appointments, so a lot of the same patients wind up sitting in the waiting room together each month. I don't say much to anyone there, but from what I hear from other patients, a lot of them are getting Opa. and they like it better than morphine or dilaudid. (keep in mind these are old folks like me).
I have heard various reports from people snorting it. Some folks say its great, and others say it does nothing. I have had chronic sinus infections for a long time --so I have to stick with eating the pills.
I don't think they have done a good job marketing Opa. Some of the other manufacturers send sales reps with coupons to the clinic and its free for Morphine and some other stuff if you have insurance. I did not pay for morphine for 4 years. I like Opa. enough better than morphine to pay a $100 co-pay each month. ($50 for ER script and $50 for IR script).
I take every pill I am prescribed and don't have money or contacts for extra's, so I can't help you any with the price. It is hard for me to imagine any of the disabled patients and little old ladies I see at this clinic, selling their pills, but I know looks are deceiving and if someone needed money, this would be an easy way to get it.
At my last appointment, a little old lady gave the nurse her last months Opa. scripts in the waiting room and said, "I am taking so much less than you prescribe, that I did not fill last months prescription. Let me give it back to you so I don't forget". That was a traumatic incident for me to have to experience. I hope I never see that again. I was shaking the whole day, constantly reliving the horror of an un-filled Opa. script.
This clinic schedules a lot of tests and other treatments, so a lot of people come their for more than scripts, so I should have been prepared for this type incident.

I'm sorry you had to witness that. Such a waste of a perfectly good script.

Opan. in KC is pure luck of knowing somebody. 10mg ir= $10. It seems like I know soo many people who if they wanted good opies they could get them but choose not to. Thats just as bad as throwing a script away.

you know, even though i'd definitely prefer an IR over ER any day, the length of time I can stay well on Opana is just insane. i can dose at 6PM and be well until afternoon the NEXT day.. I always crush and snort (ive heard people tell me they felt NOTHING on 20mg oral opana, and insane euphoria on 20mg snorted) so i'm not sure if the length of time i'm feeling these has to do with the TimerX or the half-life of oxymorphone. either way, it works for me. Opana just has the all-around greatness and every quality that fits my liking more than anything else. literally THE holy grail... or.. MY holy grail.. hahah
bateman - i wouldn't doubt the craziness you get offered. i've had people that i've let try opana call me, and call me, and call me... BEGGGING for a quarter of a 40mg!! straight up offering 60-70 for a 40mg pill... ridiculous!

round here, ALL Opana is around $1 per mg.. give or take about $5 either way.. and lately, they've been just about as readily available as oxyc's...

I agree... Snorting an Opana IR gives you insane euphoria, whilst taken orally its just... Meh.

I know exactly what you are saying about the Opana market expanding in 2009. I had the exact same thing happen. I kept reading about how good Opana was and was on a witch hunt for it and couldn't find it for the life of me and then all of the sudden all my connects had it. They are the extended release but some is better than none. It seems like doctors are prescribing it more because of the DEA and stigma behind Oxycontin. SWIM has only one connect for the 10mg Opana IR's and only for a few but boy does SWIM love that time of the month.
Anyhow the prices SWIM gets in Buffalo NY are as follows:
Opana (ER)
10's - $15-20
20's - $30-35
30's - $40-45
40's - $50-55
Opana (IR)
10's - $15 each with no deals at all.
But at least SWIM is lucky enough to be able to get them.

Same thing here- and actually- I was a long haired, quiet, passive, intravert, who would "wake-n-bake and every 2 hours till bed time pothead" who was perfectly content to run my boring machine at work, then come home and play videogames in my little apartment for like 15 years. I can actually say that the only thing positive that came out of my injury was when one day I realized (my wife and friends too) that I hadnt smoked for like 4 days and Strangely I was becoming very outgoing, began not just running my machine, but learning how to write programs (now I am a M.E.) making tons of new friends etc. It also really didn't occur to me for a good while that those "useless pain pills" were the culprit.
Man- just think, I used to break a percocet 5mg in half maybe 3 times a day and it had that much of an affect. ohwell, that was long ago and we all know where it eventually leads
PS- to this day- even though the "good feeling" of pain meds stopped years and years ago, I still smoked maybe only 10 times in the past 15 years, just doesnt seen the same.

In my area I am the only person I know who can get Opana and thats only because Im a cp patient. For a while was on 40mg ER per day and 20mg IR per day for bt pain. But that much Opana made me really apathetic so we switched me to fentanyl patches with Opana IR for bt.
When ever Ive thought about fair pricing for the IR Opana I just compared it to Dilaudid. An 8mg Dilaudid around here can go for over $20 each sometimes. Intravenous 5mg IR Opana is (analgesically) equivalent to 8mg Dialudid IV (disregarding incomplete cross tolerance), but with much longer legs. I cant comment personally on how they compare IV because I dont inject, but Ive eaten and snorted both and they seem about equal there. So I figured if they're about the same strength and euphoria then they ought to be priced similarly.
I also agree that doctors are largely looking to Opana ER to replace Oxycontin. This is probably because of how difficult the Timerx system is to defeat, and that it can do the same job but doesnt have the stigma that OCs do. When I first entered PM my doc put me on morphine but I had too many side effects from it. The very next drug he put me on was the Opana ER, which absolutely stunned me because I had heard how strong they were and thought that would be the last medication he would put me on. I should probably go back to them because then I could just rail my day's worth instead of swallowing it and I was still on schedule. But now with the fent patches, if I have some fun with them then Im using 2 days worth of meds, which puts me behind.
