So I was cleaning out my medicine cabinet the other day when I cam across an inhaler that I was prescribed several years ago when I had pneumonia.
I believe it was called a Symbicort or something like that. The name is less important than the purpose though... It is an inhaler designed specifically for the administration of a powedered medication.
Now my brain is spinning thinking of how cool it would be to be able to re-fill one of these babies with crushed oxies, or even H, and be able to carry 50 metered doses totally inconspicuously.
Hold it up to your nose instead of your mouth, turn the dial, inhale and you're flying!

Has anyone else ever though of, or more importantly - TRIED this?

No, I haven't tried it nor would I. The meds that are used for inhalation are formulated for that purpose. If you tried this with Oxycodone, or any other med meant for oral use, you'd be putting more filler than anything into your lungs.

Although the amount of medication which is delivered via this ROA is quite small I would imagine there would be hell to pay in the long run.

Pills contain various inactive ingredients, like silicon dioxide, cellulose, magnesium stearate, and others, that you do not want getting into your lungs.

I understand your reasoning, but this really is unsafe.

A better idea would be to use the tried and true liquid nasal spray, such as nasacort or whatever. This keeps the shit from flying into your lungs, which you do not want. You have to create a liquid that is fully dissolved though, or you'll clog the spray nozzle.

lol, obviously you wouldn't use your mouth. You would use this intranasaly, which would be no different from snorting it off of a table-top, the only difference being the convenience factor.

Or is snorting oxys normally as dangerous as all that?

Lots of people smoke oxys, can't say I have myself I perfer to inject but I don't see how trying this one time would be bad...prolonged use is another story, but maybe there's a way to get rid of the filler if you have a bunch of pills and a grinder.

Not a vaporizer, it just dispenses a metered amount of powdered medication, then you inhale it as a powder.

Cunningx you're not listening here. We're talking about a device that's built for delivering (Tiny doses of) medication into your airways. Even if not all of it makes it your lungs, this is a REALLY SHITTY IDEA.

Yeah, cunningx, you're making something simple into something far too complex.

If you want to do something along the lines of this, then use the nasal spray suggestion mentioned earlier.

Even better, just swallow your oxycodone. It has a significantly higher bioavailability orally compared to snorted, and snorted oxycodone has a shorter duration. You'll get higher, and be higher for longer, by swallowing the oxycodone.

I guess a pill crusher isn't much bigger than the inhaler anyways...

Ive spend up the one you were talking about, and the only way i could get it open was by destroying most of it. So i dont think this would work even if you wanted it to.

No one has seen those little coke bullets? They've been around forever, I used one for bup for quite awhile last year.. You can find them in headshops, same concept, meters out a little blast of whatever is in the vial and easy to carry.. NBD..

And oh yeah, newsflash - sniffing drugs is bad, mmmmmkay?

Just crush and sniff. Don't use that inhaler and especially DO NOT try to inhale any pills besides what goes in the inhaler even through the nose. If you would get any of the insoluble binders in your lungs it could be bad. Do a search here, we have discussed this subject in detail in the past. The thread discusses many different ROAs, like aerosolizing and stuff. Very interesting thread.

Cunningx, seems like you've got the message–if want to discreetly use your DOC via insufflation, I'd use the coke bullet that Chopstix mentioned. I've used them before and they work well.
