Yeah that's right, autumn in the southern hemisphere, it's been raining for the last couple of days, I was driving between jobs and it hit me - MUSHROOM SEASON, that looks like a likely spot to look, decaying plant matter, other fungus visible from the car... so I screech to a halt and go scope out the area. Within 2 minutes I noticed those familiar chestnut coloured shiny caps. I pick a few, not the species that I used to find down south but hey, there's hundreds of different types and I am 600km away from where I used to pick them. And that earthy smell is present.

So I head to the car, put them in a paper bag under my heater vents (much easier to deal with dried shrooms!) and head off to the next job....

3 hours later and they're taking on a blue tinge, absolutely no doubt about it, these are psilocybes! :)

Mushroom & soy sauce omelettes are a tasty personal specialty (most effective when still wet, if you can't wait)

I just roll'em up and down them like giant mushy pills! I'm gonna try some out tonight with some cloanzepam, shrooms & benzos are an amazing combo - I'll report back :)

... But won't the benzo un-trip your mushies if taken together?

^^ funnily enough there's some amazing synergy, people often don't believe me about this but the combo is amazing, takes away all the uncertainty and paranioa of the typical shroom trip, intensifies all the goodness!

Fuck yeah, me and 2 good friends, after wine and about 1mg of clonazepam gingerly started consuming the pictured fungi, taking it slow not knowing the potency of the local gift of the gods. Within an hour they were all gone. The comeon was slow with none of the usual anxiety, for a while I was dubious of the potency. I suggested we take off for a walk, so guided by our resident sober Jew (quite a novelty, not many Jews in NZ) we set off, ended up at the top of a hill overlooking the harbour and our side of town. By then the trip had just about kicked in, plants were looking super cool and we (including the sober Jew I'm told) were all feeling euphoric as we lamented the scouge of materialism on humanity and took in the panorama of my beautiful city.

By the time we got back home things were looking pretty crazy, selecting a tune was pretty difficult but hey, I'm a DJ, I'd have to be on a hell of a drug combo to be phazed by the task of dropping a dope beat (I've only once ever been to fucked up to select a tune but that's for another thread). So we sat back in our cozy lounge, dimmed the lights, and poured some wine. At that point I realised I'd picked the perfect tripping buddy, my anarchist rockstar pirate buddy is just fucking hilarious, get him going and you'll be super LMAO (that term is used a bit liberally but last night truly deserved it, I was rolling around the floor just about pissing my pants with laughter).

So for any non believers shrooms and benzos are one hell of a combo, highly recomended!!

And the great thing is I now have a mushroom patch that looks as if it'll just give and give. Thanks mother earth :)

This is one drug that I have yet to try, and I have no fucking idea why I havent.

Best believe this is on my to do list, and will get accomplished very fucking soon.

Ive already heard of them being around here, as well.

The first and last time I had shrooms was when I was 19-20. Wow...30 years ago. and I remember it like a month ago :).

A friend had just got them and I had moved into my first apartment. While putting the kitchen together we swore the dishes told us where to put them. Rugs moved themselves to where they wanted to be. It was trippy in more ways than one.

Thanks for the memories.... they're good ones. :):p:D:)

Just make sure to see they bruse blue. Don't be a foolish fuck. where its we fungus will grow and don't take lightly where an ID comes in handy. I have seen a friend piss out his ass more then once thinking they were "trippy" shrooms. for a color and or trail 3 dayz of pissing out yer ass is not worth it. Knoow how to identifiy it people......or where they come from unless they are worth the purge../.

Round horses? Fun loves that shit

^^ no horses but I know a shroom when i see one, it's that chestnut colour, kind of shiny caps and a white stalk. And the smell is quite a give away. I wasn't dead certain when I picked them but I had an inkling (wow, never typed out inkling before, like a baby ink!),but when the blue started to show there was absolutely no doubt, I've always been lucky in finding shrooms... and poppies :D

Im on the upper part of the hemisphere so i need to wait until october here.. and all i can gather is semilanceata.

Yeah, the benzos counteract the mushroom experience, but if you add more mushrooms then you get allmost all mushroom effects but with no (or much less) paranoia and anxiety. Altought i think solo is best to learn from the experience.

Hmm.... Got my wheels turning...

There's two seasons a year where I'm from in Washington and I happen to be here now, in the late part of the first season, and it's raining today...

Hmm.. It's been fucking YEARS and I usually shy away because every time I've taken enough to get off, it's been way more of a ride than I bargained for, but it's also been a really long time..

all ready for a tea party tonight - a few cups shared with a couple of friends:D:D - taking it easy though, just enough for the walls to breath, see some traces and to find everything hysterically funny. tonight kicks off on a roof deck in the middle of the city- amazing views, lots of plants/trees/etc. - super luxurious apartment, a friend is cat-sitting for the owner:cool: a few drinks, then once the tea kicks in off to a club for some deep deep house music/dancing/fun - if weather allows, the night will end watching sunrise from roof...i am in a great mood, well rested = perfect mindset for a trip. environment should be perfect too, good friends and a combination of being outdoors and in a club= best of both worlds.

Hell,I miss tripping, but I've got to the point where I'm doing more damage than it's worth.

You're definately right about the learning experience thing, unfortunately with that often comes the fear. I've learnt plenty from shrooms though, rather add the benzos for a recreational trip these days.

And Nick, never been able to figure out what kind of shrooms we get here, I think there's a few different varieties of psylocybes and whatever it is they call liberty bells. Then there's the ones I've never found we call blue meanies which are apparantly a non typical brain-looking thing.

And chops, I guarantee you if you apply a little benzo to your mushroom experience you'll enjoy the ride a lot more!

"liberty bells." interesting because we have liberty caps and they look a little similar.Ours are smaller and more nipple shaped, but pretty much the same colour. How many do you need for a good 8-10 hour trip?

Seedy
05-02-2009, 06:23 PM
^^ yeah, also called liberty caps, they're pretty tiny so the general dosage is between 30 & 50. I haven't tried that variety for years but I remember it to be more hallucinogenic than "gold tops" (like the ones pictured where you'd need 4-8 for a comparable trip).

mmm those gold tops look delicious - i forgot how much fun shrooms can be, as long as the setting environment/mood is right - also, they require a lot of patience after ingesting- too many times i've gotten bored waiting and think that 'i'm not feeling anything' and take more, then even more...those days/nights have been the overwhelming trips, with hallucinations (visual and audio) beyond anything i've even experienced on lsd - smallish doses are definitely more enjoyable for me- the hangover isn't too bad either, your body does not feel as abused/toxic as after taking pills or a tab.

^^ Fuck yeah,p just been raining here & I checked out a NZ shroom guide, turns out there's fucking heaps of types, possibly some that haven't even been discovered as "magic", i'm a off hunting, hopefully i'll have a new pic to post later!!

OK, here's todays haul. Sorry if it seems like I'm just bragging but finding such potent drugs growing right out in public really blows me away! These are pretty tiny but they are mature (the caps have opened), I'm not sure if they'd have grown much more. I left a bunch of babies to fatten up (still pissing down with rain), I'll go rescue those ones in a few days :)

Edit: that's about 3 average trips worth for the non-tolerant (ie first few trips of the season). I'm pretty sure these are Psilocybe subaeruginosa but there are a couple of similar looking types that grow in this area according to this guide (http://anarchism.tk/blog/2008/03/31/new-zealand-magic-mushroom-guide/)

Lots of great shroom hunting here in Cen/Tex. I havn't been out this season yet. I got friends that own lots of land........with plenty of cattle........in the Brazos Valley. A cool front moved thru the area Sun/Mon.......had some rain Sunday morning. Today the weather turned perfect.......for shrooms.....88 during the day 70 tonight......very humid.
Everyone out there's scared of them. No one touches them but me........and even then very infrequently.
I'd rather do acid.

I live in TX but I'm always afraid that if I try to pick mushrooms I will get some poisonous ones and become a statistic.

Mushrooms would be fantastic though.

Mushrooms would be fantastic though.

Once you know what you are looking for they are very easy to identify. Here in this part of Texas they are unique to themselves........in other words it would be difficult to get the wrong thing by misidentifcation. I don't know if that's true all over the state though.
There's a lot of shroom pickers around..........I've never heard of someone being poisoned.
Anyway if you're in Central Texas........interested in hunting shrooms.......they are very common and you shouldn't have much of a problem being successful with just a little effort.
