I have been administered Morphine and Ketamine concurrently for pain ... the dose was not high but i remember feeling "spacey" and asked them what it was. It was my introduction to Ketamine.

how great would it be if you could cook it up on the stove like regular k:) (i always preferred top of stove- pot/plate method vs. pyrex/oven, or microwave.

I was talking with a friend recently who is a Veterinarian, and inquiring about the use of Ketamine in surgeries. She was telling me that they never really use Ketamine alone. It's usually Ketamine and Morphine or Ketamine and Valium etc... Anyway, I thought that was kinda interesting

I had my wisdom teeth taken out a couple of years before the start of my chronic pain, and I was not taking opioids daily like I am now. In fact, before that point, my only experience with opioids was codeine or hydrocodone cough syrup (for actual coughs), and a few small prescriptions for Vicodin (5/500) and Percocet (5/325) for acute pain from injuries (broken wrist, sprained ankle, etc.).

Before and during the extraction procedure, I had an IV cocktail of ketamine, Versed (a benzodiazepine), and fentanyl along with nitrous oxide :D. He also gave #54 Percocet 10/325's and #25 Percocet 5/325's for a 14 day regimen with high dosages the first 6 days to control pain, and then progressively lower dosages over the next 8 days to prevent any withdrawal symptoms. This regimen worked very well .

The IV cocktail + N2O was insane, and I spent the next few days in no pain and high as a kite from the Percocet taken exactly as prescribed. It was a fun time, my first real taste of opioids. The oral surgeon gave me the following dosing schedule for the Percocet:

There were seven steps, each with two days. The first step was two Percocet 10/325 every four hours as needed. The second step was one and one-half Percocet 10/325 every four hours as needed. The third step was one Percocet 10/325 every four hours as needed. The fourth step was one Percocet 5/325 every four hours as needed. The fifth step was one-half Percocet 5/325 every four hours as needed. The 6th step was one-half Percocet 5/325 every six hours as needed. The 7th and final step was one-half Percocet 5/325 every eight hours as needed.

This would be my number one guess. Probably being used for some type surgical procedure done in an outpatient of office setting. Possibly dental procedures or office based biopsies or Podiatry.

Its used in here for surgeries quite often, at least in the speciality that i worked on (vascular surgery) its used quite often with benzos (f0r not remembering the experience and to achive unconscious more easyly) and strong opiates of the fentanyl family.
