How many o'phile have medical MJ cards

Just wondering how many af you have a medical marijuana card.

If so:

1. How long have you had it?

2. How hard was it to obtain?

3. Do you feel that it really helps CP, or do you just like to get high legally?

4. What state are you in (if you are comfortable saying)?

5. If there anything you could do that would get your card revoked?

6. Any thing else you feel is important to mention?

Got mine about 6-7 months ago, it was probably the easiest thing ive ever done regarding medicine :P, cost me $75+ bux to tell the doc "hey weed helps me sleep".

Did the Dr.s you 2 saw have any issues with combining the MJ with Opiates? Do you have CP for legal pills from the same Dr. as the MJ Dr.? I know that they combine VERY nicely, just not sure if the Docs agree.


The Doc I have now is very cool. He just might go for the MJ for pain/insomnia. I am still afraid of asking. Any suggestions on how to bring it up? I don't want to jeopardize his opinion of me. We have a good trusting relationship that I have worked very hard for.

Also, do you think that age has a factor in getting a Dr. to prescribe MJ? How old are you 2 if you don't mind sharing?

I wished i could get cannabis like that too, but in here is not that easy, alltought is not that dificult either, but i love just being able to walk into a store and be able to choose my cannabis by discussing it with the assistant.. That i like, but i like amsterdam way better alltought is far away from perfect too.

im fairly young, and i look even younger. im 21, turning 22 in august, but i dont look older then 18.

and dune IIRC i think i brought it up in somewhat close to this; "ive been smoking weed for 8 years and i recently tried to stop and found that i CANNOT sleep without smoking a lil" i also mentioned i did not want to get on anxyolitics, so he referred me to a diff doc that gave me the "Medican" dealio.

and i am not prescribed opiates so idk if that would effect his decision in referring me to the Medican program.

Age has little bearing on getting the card, I'm in my 30s and I know people from 19 to 70 that have them. I'm also not a CP patient but I'm sure that could only help your cause. If you say the pain keeps you awake, that should be enough to get a card. The Doc I saw was in a practice dedicated to MM, I didn't go to my GP.

I didn't say anything about opis but mentioned crippling insomnia, related benzo habit and my desire to cut down &/or taper off benzos completely, and cited that as a reason for wanting the card, and she had no problem with that.

When I lived in CA I had mine..... it was real easy to get.....$100 bucks and had to listen to a little lecture..... I don't have CP, but enjoyed being able to smoke and grow legally....

I agree Xannyman, in fact you took everything out of my mouth, i thought i was going to have to type a lot but you pretty much summed it up for me, thanx i guess, anyway Xannyman here is just like me, my card cost me $95 cuz i'm in cali and have county insurance. I LOVE CALI!!! I have heard ppl paying more than $150, $200, $250 thats expensive but for that kind of doctor its worth it, all depends on who you go to and where!!!!

Getting medical cards for MJ isn't a country wide law and is probably easiest in CA. Everyone that has mentioned having a medical card in this thread is from CA. Medical MJ is illegal in the majority of states in this country.

Nope, I don't have one, but I know some of my friends have them and there under 18 years of age, I think there permits to smoke, a parent has to sign. I actually have a few friends that are under 18 and have them. ( in California )
