Last week Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff Rick Jones issued a press release bragging that one of his deputies had arrested a man for violating the state's new ban on possession of the psychedelic herb Salvia divinorum. But his pride was short-lived. Since the law did not take effect until the day after the arrest, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports (http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20090406/NEWS0107/304060019), the sheriff's department had to drop the charge.

Oh how I would have loved to have been there, what a dickhead.
Now after this, he's given "fair warning" to all the others that may have some, he'll most likely NOT get any arrests any time soon, at least not legal ones at is.

In a couple week the same guy will get busted again for the same thing only this time the cops will plant it on him.... it's not like the cops aren't thinking it, right? :(

those fuckheads. The other day I'm chillin' at my friends moms house and she says "Girls, have you heard about that new drug? Salvia? It's highly addictive and worse than LSD. I heard all about it on the doctor phil show. It's legal but they sure are trying to put a ban on it because it's ruining teenagers lives across the country." fucking dr. phill. I explained the real deal to her..but damn. I don't know why it's gotta be like that.

There are certain ways to deal with salvia, it's not that bad if it was y would it be legal and not POT!!!! C'MON people get real here just cuz it has sife effects like any other pharmecutical out there on the market they have to make a big deal about it. Salvia turned up on Dr. Phil, The Doctors Show, see my mom came to me because we ezperimented with it and did it right, we didnt abuse it and if they are worried about abusing it then why in the hell did it become LEGAL!!!!!

I PERSONALLY THINK THAT IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE INDIVIDUAL, PARENTS NEED TO WATCH TEIR KIDS MORE OFTEN, TALK TO THEIR KIDS WITHOUT GETTING MAD AT THEM, THEY NEED TO REALIZE MOST OF THESE KIDS ARE GOING THRU WAT WE WENT THROUGH OUR PARENTS WENT THROUGH BACK IN THE 60-70'S, HELL THE FUCKIN 80'S COCAINE. IF THE INDIVIDUAL CAN NOT HANDLE WHAT THAT INDIVIDUAL IS PUTTING INTO THEIR BODY, DONT PUT IT IN YOUR BODY, PLAIN AND SIMPLE, CANT HANDLE YOUR HIST DONT DO YOUR SHIT!!!!!

JUST TAKE A BIG LOOK AROUND MORE AND MORE WAYS OF DOING THESE DRUGS ARE ARISING!!!!!!

FOR INSTANCE: Kids are putting shot's, beer bongs into their anal. thats going a lil to far, Stawberry Nesqick with crank, LOOK UP THE DOCTORS SHOW AND LOOK FOR THE SEGMENT ON NE FASHION or somehting like that or DRUGS!!!!

it was only a matter of time, but shit, i dont know a single person who liked salvia enough to try it more than once or twice. (i know its a matter of taste, whatever, just making a point)

now that it's illegal in some places it'll get more popular though im sure.

there's so many things you can potentially get 'high' on every day, but that doesnt mean that they're pleasant, i wish folks could make that connection, regardless of their stance on the drug war.

Now that the pigs have made total fools of themselves.........they're going to be working overtime to bust all the salvia "addicts" they can round up. The truth about salvia is it's about as much fun as sniffing glue. My dad used to say.........People would suck on a bar of soap if they thought it would get them high.

I had to try salvia just to see what the fuss was about. Took a couple big drags off a pipe and laid back to enjoy. Before the effects even subsided I was telling myself.........This is some fucked up shit.

Not wanting to throw away the little bit I had left I turned an old trippin' buddy on to it. Next time I saw him I said.......whad'ya think of that stuff. He said.......Motherfucker once it started comin' on I tried to fight it.......but just said fuck it and went with the flow. He said it was about as much fun as being strangled.

Instead of making it illegal........let people smoke it. Hell......... a couple hits of 80x salvia is the kinda thing that will make you swear off drugs.........for life.

Unbelievable. It's a shame because some people do enjoy salvia and use it for entheogenic purposes...
I really don't see how salvia can "ruin someones life" though...I mean come on, are people pawning their moms TVs so they can go out and buy more salvia? It lasts like 2 minutes at the most and for me it's really not that enjoyable, but to each their own I guess.

I'm kind of happy about his this whole thing. I couldn't care less is Salvia ends up banned nation wide because the shit has absolutely no effect on me. I'm the one guy out of five that it doesn't have an effect on and if I can't trip my face off on it than no one should.

Well, I'd sure love to see the DEA's scientific proof that Salvia is a) addictive, b) has absolutely no medical value, and c) it causes an "imminent safety hazard" to the nation's population, before they go making it illegal (which they will).

Not gonna happen though. Disgusting.
I haven't done Salvia, and hadn't ever planned on it...but now I'll have to! :P

salvia is neat, its like the peak of an L trip for like 5 min.

expensive tho, to expensive to make it worth it. anything less then like 50x is a waste of time, and around me thats like 45.00 a gram.

even if you don't like salvia you should be concerned because it is just one more example of the government interfering in our lives and business. plus it could slow down/stop research into herkinorin and other mu agonists synthesized from salvinorins.
