On another thread People say they use the syringe with 1/2 in. point. I have always used the longer one, I think it's 1 in, maybe 3/4. I almost can't use a 1/2 in point cause it doesn't let me poke around to find something. My preference, if I can get it, is 100 units = 1cc ultra fine (I think 29 gauge) BD brand. Am I the only one who uses the longer one?
Oh yeah, this is for the allergy shots I give my dog once a month. What the heck did ya think it was for?

1cc ultrafine long needle
The only syringes I like to use are the 31 gauge, 1 cc insulin syringes. Mine are the short needle, I hate the long needle.
I just go into a pharmacy with an old syringe and say that my dads a diabetic (actually he is) and that he hasnt received his supply from his insurance compnay yet, and that I need what I have here. I play dumb, "What gauge is this, I think my dad said 9 gauge or something", Then they play like they are all so smart, no thats a 31 gauge 1cc insulin syringe. Then Im just like, "whatever, just give me a box of whatever these are, im in a rush to get back to work"

Shaunclo you must be blessed w/ some of those really nice veins I'm so jealous of if you can use the shorts.BD has long and shorts the longs are 1/2 inch and I have no veins ,those are plenty long enough for me and thats saying alot because I have nothing fo veins left, although I do still manage to find one every day,but mine are also the 1cc but they are 30 gauge, maybe this is why I have an easier time injecting.I also use the 1/2 cc sometimes but not often.I like the flash I get from the 1cc's and I think the high is better because you are pushing more of the drug at onc then the 1/2 cc's which are quite smaller.Just my opinion.

I have such a hard time with shorts... I just don't get enough leverage I guess... To each his own.

I can't use the shorts neither but I imagine if I had huge muscles w/bulging veins it wouldn't be a problem, which isn't my case shaunclo sounds like he's goyt those vens I'm so jealous of.Lucky Ducky

I dont have bulging veins, but for some reason I dont have too hard a time getting it to register. Without my heat fan it would be A LOT harder. If I cant find a vein I go pump some reps with some weights then go and I am ready to go, ohhh Yeahhhhh
I sincerely feel bad for you ladies, I couldnt imagine how hard it would be to find a vein. You gilrs have such smooth sexy arms, with no visible veins, which sucks if your and IV'er.

I make shooters almost as jealous as when they're looking at a guy's arms...my prob is it seems there is truly only one good vein I can use...whenever I try the wrist or hands, it simply spasms and it's a no go. that one I use really can't be seen unless I'm using a tourniquet, and it's only visible by the bump in the skin, you can't see a color change...but you could easily put a 14 gauge IV cath *the ones they use to do a real IV, with the teflon cath over the needle, then pull the needle to keep vein open)
this one doesn't care about the angle or approach, I just know if I poke below the surface and can't see 1/4 to 1/2 of the needle showing, I'm IN...I pull the tourniquet and sure enough flash every time...I can't even feel a pop or anything most of the time...it's juicy for sure

Taking a hot bath helps warms you up nicely and those hard to find veins are not so hard to find anymore

If I started back shooting, even after a break I'd still have to avoid most of my upper arms / inside elbow... hell you can even still see the scaring... When I was going heavy fuck I was hitting the 'alternative' veins 9 of 10 times... hands, feet, even had to hit my neck a few times. Yuck.

I had to have a minor operation a few years back and predictably they struggled to find a vein. After about 3 parts of an hour's prodding and poking they finally found one in my foot(ouch). When I woke up they'd left the iv thingy in my foot but capped off and not connected to anything. Because of the unusual location, the nurse forgot to take it out when it was time to go and I managed to get out of the hospital with it still in! I was so excited thinking 'easy hits for once' but after one hit in it I got all paranoid about getting an infection so I pulled it out!! Still it could've been a good thing!!
