vicodin alone or with a little xanax?

i am prescribed xanax for anxiety and it works great for that... i only take .5mgs to 1.5 mgs daily and my anxiety is a distant memory... i really am amazed at how well it works

but, the few times i've tried taking xanax for rec use i just end up tired and dont really get a high from them... so i leave them alone except when i need them. but recently i had taken a few norcos right after taking a xanax and i felt that it increased the norco effect without making me drowsy at all...

so... for those of you who have tried mixing the 2, do you prefer the pure opiate high of vics alone or do u like the feeling of vics with xanax better?

I prefer opiates alone, but others like the mix....

its really your call..... just be careful with that mix!

DEFINITELY opiates alone. I don't find benzos euphoric at all, sure, they help me relax, but it gives me this really clouded, absent-minded feeling that I find contradicts the mental crispness and clarity on a fresh hit of opiates.

I feel like I'm diluting the opiates when mixed with just about any other substance.

I like to mix it up. It really depends... however if you feel like shit nothing better then a good benzo and opie. However nothing beats the glow of a fair amount of quality opiates :]

I like mixing things up - musical vinyl cuts, cheese slices, bowling balls, opiates & benzo's - however, the latter of what is mentioned should only be done with complete caution in regard to your tolerance and history. Everyone is different and has different likes/dislikes as well as different tolerances and what not, so in the end just be careful, especially if any alcohol is involved - of which in that case such a combination is not advised at all per the reality of harm reduction and not wanting to go bye bye in the night.

I'm going to have to say go with the Hydro only. That might be a bit hypocritical considering almost every single time Ive taken xanax, I've also taken opiates, but thats just because I didn't go a day without them. But now i'd prefer to take them seperate. But together it would still be good.

+1 - I'm with the Duck on this one. I prefer opies alone. But, I like the energy from the opiates. Just like duck said, I feel the xanax (or whatever benzo) takes away from the clarity and energy I look for.

I personally don't care for benzos myself. I like my opiates by themselves or with a cup of coffee. The only thing I used to mix with them every once in a great while was Adderall. Opiates and Adderall is nice.

Hydro with soma is better than with benzo. IMHO

I'm not a huge benzo fan, so I may have a biased opinion, but IMHO, benzos just seem to muddy up the good narcotic high.

A couple Valium or Ativan by themselves is cool, but for me, the combination of benzo/opiate kind of justs steps on each other.

As you can tell by my username I love my xanny's!!! But when I do hydrocodone I take it alone then take my xanax a few hours later, because personally the hydro starts to get me wired after a while and the xanny balances out. I like the energetic hydro buzz at first which is why I don't take them together right away.

that's an extremely dangerous mix, please be careful...

SWIM found that taking 1/2 the usual recreational amount of benzo x with 1/3 of the amount of opiate y got him much much more fucked up than larger amounts of either chemical by itself. like, 6mg xanax with 80mg OC was stronger than 240mg OC!

i assume you don't pay too much for the hydros, so unless you have a tolerance and are strapped for cash, why bother?

96% of oxy related deaths are due to mixing it with another drug (mostly benzos, i think!). SWIM says if you're going to do this (even though it's a bad idea), to start off with maybe 1/4 usual dose for each and just see how it affects you...

I'm prescribed three mg a day, but I can take 10 and a handful of lortabs and only pass out, although that is stupid and I don't do that any more. Xanax potentiates opiates, but if your tolerance is low enough, the dose high enough, you can get a purer/cleaner opiate high without the Xanax.

On the other hand, if you are ANXIOUS, xanax potentiates almost every other drug (ESPECIALLY marijuana) to the point where the actual high is more anxiolytic, less body load, more euphoria, etc.
