View Full Version : Separate codeine from caffeine?

Anyone know a way to do this? Someone once told me that codeine was soluble in chloroform, but caffeine wasn't, but I looked it up, and that doesn't seem to be accurate.
If I knew of a simple way to do this I would be very happy.

I bet my buddy would be interested in this as well, he spent some time in BC over the winter and was cwe'ing 30-40 8/15/325 ACCs (codeine/caffeine/aspirin) at a time.. Called it a "Canadian speedball" hehe - 320mg codeine, 600mgs caffeine = :D

ok there is a article on heroinhelper.com that has step by step on how to get rid of the paracetomol and caffiene in stuff like empacod, etc...i wish i had a link to it but go to the site and look around under the user part.
i tried it myself with empacod and extracted codiene from the paracetomol and it worked really good. best of luck

I was checking out that site as a result of reading this thread and found some of the info pretty interesting. I came across the link and remembered that you were looking for it. Or at least the information that the link speaks of.

You know what? I am wondering something myself.
I have a bunch of codeine tablets and because of my tolerance to opiates, I never get anything from them - no matter how many I ingest. So here is my question. If I was to use a CWE to isolate the codeine, would that codeine be more effective or more potent than the pill itself. If I ingested for examples sake only, 30mg of the isolated codeine and then the next day or whatever, ingested 30mg of codeine in a non-altered, non-messed with pill form, would the isoltaed codeine have a better effect or would it be essentially the same?
Being that my tolerance is so high from my standard med usage (oxy) I would like to at least get some use out of the codeine when and if withdrawls hit instead of just putting all that APAP in my system for nothing.
Thanks for the help!

No, it won't hit you harder, but you can put more in your system without worrying about APAP.

Thats what I figured. But it is nice to have confirmation from those who know. Thanks. Guess I will try that in a few days then for the hell of it.

Can anyone tell me the dangers of taking a lot of caffiene over an extended period of time? The reason I am asking is I'm extracting around 300mg per day so that 600 mg of caffiene (thats not factoring in all the products per day that I take, that have caffiene in them). I know that caffiene is a diuretic so I'm wondering if prolonged use may be detremental?

Below is a link to a .pdf file containing everything you want to know about coffee plus some.
The short answer is yes, prolonged use of caffeine can stress the heart. From personal experience I know that it is habit-forming, and there are withdrawal symptoms (I recently cut way back on my intake from tea, coffee, and chocolate)... headaches are the most common. I would say if you're taking that much you might not want to ingest anything else that has caffeine in it, especially if you take them for a long time.

Point well taken! the problem with caffiene is alot of products add it as an additive so your unaware of exactly how much you are ingesting until after the fact, I'm sure they even add it to childrens breakfast cereal, or at least I wouldn't be suprised! thanks for the info! and I'll be sure to check out the website.
