Went to the ER from the worst flu I've ever had in my life, turns out it was a mixed bacterial and viral infection, so they gave me antibiotics and cough syrup. The bill for this is in the title.

No, healthcare isn't expensive in the USA, why do you ask.

Anyway, I'm not worried about it, just another bill to ignore, they usually stop calling and bugging you after a few years anyway.

Are you saying that the bill said the bottle of syrup was 1,900, or that the entire bill was that much?

If it's the former, that's fucked up, and I'd say spend 7 bucks and get some seeds or pods or whatever. Morphine is a great cough suppressant.

If it's that later, that's not all that surprising.

I once made the very stupid mistake of going to the ER about three years ago when I lived in Lexington for opiate w/d. For two IV fluid bags, one clonidine pill, and a 12-panel drug screen, the bill was something like 900 dollars. Thank god for patient assistance programs.

Haha... Thank reminds me of this episode of Everything's Sunny in Philadelphia. In the episode They decide to get what they want in life they need to so something very major so they decide to do their own version on Extreme House Makeover to some poor Mexican family. They kidnap them and start tearing down their walls, reorganizing, etc.. Then they figure they need cash for this and make the father of the family get a Sear's credit cad saying, "There's no way to be more American to be in debt." Buahhaaha. Check out that episode if you get the chance.

I was the in hospital for 8 days for my appendix but they had to open me from sternum to navel and was put on that machine you push the button to self medicate. It only allowed me three pushes but knocked me out then I woke in severe pain again. I asked for demerol shots instead in controlled the pain better and I liked the buz. My bill was 27000 bucks 10000 pharmaceudical what a rip. I applied for finacial aid and the hospital covered it. This hospital has mucho bucks, somebody must pay.

I have over 10,000$ in unpaid hospital bills, all overdoses; as well as inpatient rehab. I've been a frequent flyer over there. :o
