I was just watching the movie Pride and Glory, and it really makes you think. How many cops in each town are actually getting paid off or doing things under the table?

How many people of position use that to their advantage to get away with anything and everything. How many agents do you see on the news that seized 4 oz's of H when in reality they seized 6.

A friend of SWIM's used to tell SWIM about how he used to deal with roids with several people out of his local pd.

Personally, I was in treatment a couple summers ago with a state trooper who told me about how he used to smoke meth on the job everyday! He eventually got caught obviously and lost his job.

But what do you guys think about this? Obviously there are a ton of people that are involved when they claim they aren't.

Oh yeah, and if anyone hasn't seen the movie Pride and Glory, it's actually pretty good.

Thanks, I havent seen that movie, but I will check it out soon when I have a chance.

And, IMHO, 3/4 of the people that wear suits are crooked, all the way up the line of government, from the botton.

The other 1/4 aren't trusted by thier colleagues, therefore are fired, murdered, or etc...

I bet those figures are very accurate. The majority of them never get caught.

IMO I think it's more than most people would think. One of my childhood friends deals with shady people if you catch my drift, and he's told me stories about crooked cops, and he's a credible kid. He was arrested by undercovers in North Carolina, and they beat his ass and choked him out. I saw him a week after this happened and he was bruised up real bad. But what can anybody do? I'm pretty sure they can't testify in court, because they have to protect their identity so it's really hard for them to get in trouble.

Wow, I've heard of that kind of stuff in Mexico, but never here. But i believe it.

The only crooked cop story's I have heard, is a cop from around my area pulled my friend over in the mountains and he had a scale and a zip of cannabis. The officer took the scale and the cannabis and let him drive away no ticket, nothing. I have also heard of cops in my town calling people names but that's extremely common.

a " zip " is an ounce for any one that didn't know

Then again, oxicontin king my brother, there might be folks on this board that wear suits, are not in law enforcement, that root those fuckers out and bring 'em to justice. Don't forget the civil system, while far from perfect, can get things done that the criminal system can't do to political entanglements. Some reason for a little hope occasionally.
BTW that was a killer movie.

It's true, I got arrested by a dirty cop for no reason whatsoever and was thrown in prison for 3 days. I had the absolute shit beat out of me in there, to the point where I had to go to the hospital after I got out and had them take pictures (and I took my own pictures) to document the bruises and beating I got. It's definitely a sore subject and I don't want to talk about it (I have horrible, awful, awful, awful PTSD from this experience)...not that I really can talk about it anyway due to the lawsuit that came about (part of the settlement). Suffice to say, this kind of thing goes on all the time.
