What's up folks?! I've booted oxy, prodine, hydro, and of course H, but the opiate that leaves the most annoying, itchy red line of histamine reaction up my arm is morphine sulfate. I actually enjoy laying their, nodding and scratching my back with a fork:p , but the redness at the injection-point from MS sucks. Would mixing 15mg or so of benadryl with the goodies prevent this localized histamine reaction?

Maybe hitting a vein dead-on would do the trick?

I do. The quicker the push, the less redness. With how fast the blood pumps, it seems like a weird thing to happen.

I think hydroxizine or promethazine are the best and most readily available anti-histamines to prevent itching and to a degree nausea, plus adding a small extra sedation. I've read on that other forum a.h's not being very gentle on the cognition though, so have any of you noticed decreased memory capability after using them for a while or on just one occasion?

Benadryl will most definently help, it will also add to the nod...
