View Full Version : music good enough to EAT, post it here
Post songs/lyrics here.
I don't know if this is a good idea or not but I want to share this music with you. These links are virus free but will be a terrible pain in the ass for slow connections because it requires a download to your temporary file folder. These are mp3s. I tried to choose a variety of songs so that anyone will find at least one perfect track 2lay back and get high2.

this is a new pearl jam song, "severed hand" sounds like its about acid
Tried to walk, found a severed hand,
recognized it by the wedding band.
"It's okay, do you want some more?"
I said, "Yeh,..."
"You'll see dragons after 3 or 4..."
I said, "Yeh,..."
"Understand, I'm not falling down"
I said, "Look around, the room's taller now,..."
I can't close my eyes, cause I see the sound
in waves.
In waves, lets me stay calm.
If I don't lose control
explore and not explode
a preternatural other plane
with the power to maintain.
Like a tear in all we know
once dissolved, we are free to grow
"What is human?,... What is more?"
I'll answer this
when I get home.

Well this is the band I was in until medical bills caught up with me. I no longer could afford to live on my own which is why I now live with my mother(GOD HELP ME). We were Uncle Gina but now that the album art is done I see they changed the name to Elephant Bones. The, now, drummer played the Tin Flute and percussion for the Drop Kick Murpheys, he also recorded our album. So when the lead singer decided to move out of the house to live with his girlfriend, myself and the Bassist were left alone with rent and enormous Gas bills(winter was approaching at the time of the unexpected move). Anyhow like I said we(the band) have come to terms I have forgiven and so have they. Communication works wonders.
I support them 100%. They will go far.

If you look at the liner notes under "other players" you'll see that all drums except Track three were recorded by Brian Davis. I dont know who that is. Our engineer Ryan Foltz is listed as Elephant Bones drummer and only did track three because once we listened to it post-prod we realized that I sped up like fifteen bps from beginning to end of the song. I guess there was some meth left in my system on that day.
Oh!
Now I remember Brian Davis he's that straight-edged dog-loving minister. He always cut his neighbors lawn and voluteers with the elderly...Real good drummer...eghem
My favorites are tracks 1,2,4 and 10 or Destroy the sunset, Little Elves, Dresser(I got as creative as possible with this one) and Alberto Gonzales.
Listen or dont listen. If anyone sincerely likes what they hear I within a week will have about twenty copies that I would be more than happy to send out to some of the friendlier o-philes here for free.
Damnit. Now that the Jackets and Artwork is done.....its all set in stone now...Fuck I miss that band.If you look at the picture you'll see on the right is Matt he is to date one of the best friends I ever had. he showed me the ways of dumpster diving and always had K-pins in hand for me. Left is Eric....he is the one I felt abandonded by...he eats squirrels on the side for money. Dont knock it, its good work. Center back is Ryan. I think he did a good job mixing I just wish we weren't so rushed. All but two tracks were one takers with minimal overdubs.
Once again if you want a copy let me know. I could send it to a PO BOX or something since I realized most would be reluctant to hand out there mailing address.

Trainspotting is a popular movie among these forums, and rightly so. A very different but equally good movie is Requiem For a Dream, and I'd love to see it discussed sometime (if it's not too depressing). Anyway, the above link is RFD theme remixed with the LOTR: "The Two Towers" theme. WARNING: Big download.

Outskirts of Life - GG Allin
Always gonna fight, until the day I die No laws or limits will stop me from the way I live my life Don't get in my way, unless you want to die I'm living fast and hard and I accelerate on high I listen to the one, use who I got to use Don't ever try and get too close, 'cause I'm a burning fuse Everyone around me is someone I will play I'm living out my life and I'm living day to day Within the perimeters of this world I just don't feel real right I'm living by the laws of a gun and a knife My soul cannot be tamed, I'm living just to die I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life Live from state to state, living day by day The only paycheck that I know is what I steal today I like my girls real young, but keep marriage out of mind I lick 'em and forget 'em because my friends I have no time Never settle down, living just to fry But all the things I take in life are things that you can't buy I sleep all through the day time and I creep all through the night But I'll live until I die on the outskirts of life Within the perimeter of this world I just don't feel real right I'm living by the laws of a gun and a knife My soul cannot be tamed, I'm living just to die I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life Don't try talking to me, I just don't have the time You bore me with your useless life, but you never know about mine Listen to me closely, do exactly what I say Give me what I want from you or I'll take it anyway Liquor, drugs, whores and greyhounds, guns and violence too In my world I'm living by the laws of who knows who I have no fear of nothing, each day I set to die So I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life Within the perimeter of this world I just don't feel real right I'm living by the laws of a gun and a knife My soul cannot be tamed, 'cause I'm living just to die I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life
Liquor, drugs, whores and greyhounds, guns and violence too
Any body listen to Alice in Chains, Heavy herion users. 9 out of 12 songs on the Dirt album are about dope, plus the lead singer(RIP Layne Staley) died of a herion/cocaine overdose.
WHAT IN GOD'S NAME HAVE YOU DONE
STICK YOUR ARM FOR SOME REAL FUN
SO YOUR SICKNESS WEIGHTS A TON
AND GOD'S NAME IS SMACKKKKKKKK FOR SOME
This is where the band godsmack got there name

I missed this thread when it started....however, I had seen a link to van gaalen's mp3 on soda's profile...LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC, YOU WILL TOTALLY ENJOY IT!! I don't even listen to indie or alternative music and I could feel myself getting "pulled" into this song like an opiate blanket or maybe an acid trip if you've had a really really good one (I had a horrific LSD experience, but that's another thread)
http://www.flemisheye.com/music/ChadVanGaalen-ClinicallyDead.mp3
I haven't heard any of his other stuff but this one I truly DIG...I don't say the word "dig" just so you know...not even during the 70s...I did see somewhere when I did a little research on him after I heard this song that he did all the artwork for his video...the video is kinda grateful dead-like perhaps in that the drawings morph into different shapes as the music progresses... kind of like stream of consciousness drawing going on throughout the song I suppose... I know some here will enjoy that video, it's just not my thing; besides I enjoyed going where I wanted to go when I heard clinically dead. Anyone in the NW, I believe he's going to the gorge at george sasquatch festival; apparently this guy doesn't normally do a tour or anything so you might enjoy catching him while he's visiting from up north
oh, yeah here I found the site where he has the video on quicktime...man that song is just HAUNTING me...in a good way...hard to explain...
