What did you use to dissolve the Butalbital, as it is my understanding that the Barbituates (for the most part) are not water soluble.

Never IVed butalbital however I get them every month and I love them so very much. Usually 2-3 has me nice and spaced out. not to mention that drunk feeling and the inability to avoid bumping into walls. But combined with Fent nice warm nodding buzz. Without all running into walls and well anything Stationary that happens to be in my path of movement.

I've only had them a year and I make sure I take a break from them every month. So I can keep the joy.

I know what you mean... when I was in treatment a few years ago I was put on phenobarbital (orally of course) as part of my medical detox... I had taken a fuck-load of benzos before I went in, not to mention untold amounts of opiates, and man the mix was incredible. I swear I stumbled around in detox more and worse than many of the days leading up to treatment... but of course the fun didn't last long...

While running around west africa, I was in downtown Lagos...just ate at a buka...and there happened to be a hole-in-the-wall pharmacy! Yup, 10mg valiums..2 naira each..phenobarbitals (don't remenber the mg) were 3 naira. I mean...whatever you wanted.... MUCH easier than Mexico!

I still think this is a very bad idea. Just my $0.02 I suppose, but seriously; I can't think of any reason why this is worth the downsides.

Of course you cant understand EW, you have never IV'd before. Im not trying to make an enemy out of someone I admire at all, but once you start IV'ing, you find yourself doing stuff that cant and wont make sense. Its just that simple.

SWIM has the chance to get some Butalbital. He isn't a member of this forum but wondered if (I assume in the form of fioricet or fiorinal, he said it had tylenol in it) it was a decent barb for his exploration?
He likes depressants, primarily opiates, especially hydrocodone, PT and codeine. He likes codeine for its very warm and cuddly feelings.

Fair enough, and I do know that quite well; I have had many friends who IV, I've been around it on several occasions, and I've certainly talked to many people about their experiences in great depth. But as you say, having not really done it myself, there are considerable limits to my understanding. In the particular case of barbituates though (especially coming from pill form) it's worrisome that people would IV them. In many cases that's considerably more dangerous than other things that people IV which are purer and more suitable for intravenous use. I was mostly making a pharmacological/chemical/medical statement, as opposed to a moral, ethical, etc. kind of thing.
