hi,
SWIM is basically new to methadone.
he's got a pretty good (yeah good !!!) tolerance because of his daily viewings.
he wonders what kind of dose he needs to achieve similar beauty he experiences with his viewings.
he also wonders if ppl are able to achieve such beauty with this medicine as is possible with viewings?
also SWIM heard about eating candy bars being something to give it some headstart.
also: how long does it take at most til all beauty is revealed?
he read that it can take up to 3 hours.
he thinks that incredibly long, as tea is just a matter of some minutes for him.

usually the effects of methadone peak within 2-2.5 hours. nausea tends to peak a little after that, if you are susceptible to it like i am.

I use methadone (in it seems ever increasing amounts! although I have managed to quit my IV meth i.e ampoules of injectable meth so its not all bad) as a way of stabilising my heroin addiction. I can honestly say that provided u can keep down a dose of oral meth (severe withdrawals are often accompanied b y vomiting which can obviously pose problems) that u can expect it to work in 1 hour maximum.
I have never found it to make me nauseous but neither have I experienced a 'high' (for want of a better word) from it even before I had an H habit I used 2 take it (20ml amp IV) as a come down from a weekend on speed.
For me it is 100% effective at keeping my addiction at a manageable level,
Few people in my area would choose methadone as a drug of choice for getting wrecked.
Hope this helps

Hey,
isn't it so that first when methadone absobted in oral dosing (note: the absorbtion rate is about >90%) it goes to liver, or the liver restores the methadone first; that that liver restores it explains the relatively long time whiich is involved before metthadone kicks in. Then ones liver starts to deliver it, and the blood or plasma concentration gets highest in about three hours (and this is the peak).
Then the plasma-concentration tends to get down slowly while, if I remember it right, the affinity of methadone in mostly at mu-receptor is relatively high (as its activity) and because of that, the methadone blocks the other opiates (morhine and heroine), though not the buprenorphine. And to the MMT patient, buprenorphine is yet dangerous, because it (buprenorphine) "kicks" the methadone particles from receptor and relapses them with buprenorphine, and when that happens, the person gets to the WD symptoms, instead of getting to the desired effects (because the activity of buprenorphine isn't as high as of methadone,, though it's affiinity is higher). And, in the case of heroin or morphine, methadone has higher affinity and thus blocks the effects of heroin and morphin.
Correct me, if I am wrong in some or many aspects... the most thing in which myy knowledge is limited is the affinity of methadone in receptors...
And what interests me, is the claimed NMDA antagonism and the function of liver (as restoring and delivering organ)

I've been assuming that methadone is stronger both buzzwize and for killing cravings as opposed to suboxone or subutex. When I first started on suboxone a little over a year ago it worked great for me, now it takes me 3 days just to feel normal again after just a 120 count 3 day hydro relapse. Today is day 2 of my relapse recovery back on suboxone and all the physical wd is gone but the mental and emotional is bad bad bad still and all I can do right now is just sit here depressed as hell just dead as a car without gas at the side of the road until I can "fill up" my receptors just a little more at 4 pm in a little less than an hour from now with my next sub dose, I know I've been anxious to get into that meth clinic for a while now, but just wonder what everyone elses opinion is on sub versus methadone, is meth stronger than suboxone? since I am on 3 8mg subs a day and now have such a tolerance to it that I barely maintain till my next doses, I'm hopeing that if and when I make the important life decision to take that walk into the methadone clinic that it will work much better than suboxone. I know also that the switch to methadone will most likely take a while for me to feel the full effects of methadone while it takes a while for all the bupe to clear out of my system. has anyone else here switched from sub to methadone? was it ok or pretty drawn out?

interesting comment "maximum duration til peak effects: 1h"
my experience: 1,5h minimum til noticeable onset
2h+ til peak
1h as a maximum (peak) seems awfully short to me.
i could imagine that the duration shortens as ones use of methadone continues.
on another note:
i'ver read a very positive report about combining dxm and methadone.
the user added 50-60 mg dxm to his methadone and was suprised by an unknown
(in regard to methadone) euphoria.

Yes it is stronger than buprenorphine in effects, it just doesn't have that affinity. Just like heroin or morphin, buprenorphine is an antagonist (halfly), it's activity in receptor isn't as high... Activity and affinity being diffetent things...
