So I made my first attempt at poppy seed tea today, I was dissapointed in the results. From what im reading here, i just simply didnt use enough seeds. I only used about 500 Mg, a lot of the posts here are recomending twice that, but i digress. What i am wondering is, soon after making the tea, i discovered quite a few "lots" of dried poppy pods on ebay. The question i have is, will these dry pods make good tea? and also compared to the price of poppy seeds, are the pods that much better? Thanks for all your help everyone!

Your going to need alot more than 500 mg of poppy seeds to make tea... like talking ounces. And pods should be loads better because using that many seeds would probably leave you with a slimey drink (eew) and I believe that there are more alkaloids in the pods than the seeds. You should be able to find more than enough information on making tea with pods in this forum... just use your search feature ^way^ like you would any other search engine. :D

Seed tea is a waste of time and effort. Use dried pods instead, but make sure they are not coloured, varnished or of anything other than the papaver somniferum or paeniflorum varieties.

Nod on. :p

yeah...I've never had any experiences with seed tea that remotely compare to pod tea.

i used to use pounds of seeds. only made seed tea for awhile because it seemed SOO much cheaper, and it actually is. i found around 25 pounds of seeds online for abour 35 bucks. and at a pound or a little more per use, thats damn decent.

the only thing that was horrible was the amount of liquid needed to cover all the seeds. just a giant milky glass of water to drink.

pods, however, are a little more expensive, but so damn worth it. the amount of waterand/or juice used is way less. and the feeling is way stronger.

id go for pods if i had the money. seeds ARE a pain in the ass, but they work.

Au contraire, mon frere! I had one or two experiences early on when I was not aclimatized where I achieved the realm after quaffing seed tea. I was quite surprised at the time as I had experimented previously with only mild results. I suppose I must have run across something out of the ordinary or perhaps it combined in a constructive manner with my wellbutrin, but I went somewhere I have yet to revisit. Of course the pod is the Thing consistent, but it is possible to enter the Hall of the Mountain King with a tea of seeds.

Uh... you realize 500mg is half a gram, right? An extra strength Tylenol is 500mg of acetaminophen...

Maybe you meant 500g. Anyways, seed tea is pretty weak, if it has anything to it at all, and it varies from batch to batch. You need a LOT of seeds to get even a very weak effect.

Pods are what you want.

I hope it's 500g's too. if you used 500mg's i have to ask: did you just scrape off the seeds from a six pack of hot-dog buns?

Eh, in a moment of desperation a number of months ago, I tried making seed tea with a jumbo freezer bag full of them, hoping for,.....something/anything.

It ended up being a waste of time, and seeds. But if you live in an area where you have an enclosed backyard, I'd recomend dropping those suckers right in the soil. You'd have to look up your growing zone to determine the best time to plant.

Pods contain more of what you want. Now, I'm assuming that what you want is to get that opie buzz. However, if you plan on ordering some pods, plan on some things that you might not want. I have found pods to be very addictive and also very addictive. Oh, did I mention that I have come to understand through roughly a year and a half of ongoing experimentation that it seems to me that poppy seed pod heads are very addictive?

Get the right ones. buy betty's purples on ebay. have fun, smoke crack, wear women's panties and sleep in the mud. Good luck. :D

Yes the pods will be much better at making tea, see the latex/resin is in a thin membrain just under the outer skin and when dried the latex is lock into the pods, same as it would be with reefer when it is dried. EBay isn't the best place to get the pods, they are expensive and just might be treated with god knows what, your best bet would be to grow what you needed for your use. If that isn't a possibility then you need to find a grower and just get them from that person. But if you do decide to grow your own then I would suggest the giganteums, they produce bigger pods and this will mean more latex per pod with not having to use as many pods:)

If you need any help just holler for tomalock!

i just posted this in another forum but in case you missed it there here tis

his is what works for me every time, i used it this morning for wd's and it got me at least back to normal.

this is expensive but it fuckin works- 2 cimetadine, 4 loperamide, a glass of grapefruit juice then:

take 8 spice island or seed hunter dutch poppyseed jars and dump them in an empty jug.
use slightly cold water to fill about an inch above the top of the seeds and shake off and on for about 15 mins. strain through a tshirt and drink

and yes dont even get into the pods they are addictive, messy and wonderful
