Hey it's Jack.... remember the detox thing? Well, we ended up getting a pre-approval letter from the bank after taking an 8 hour first time home buyer class bringing in 'alternative credit' (its free and offered by every State I believe... a must.. with foreclosures going left and red - even if you live paycheck to paycheck you can own your OWN home. Realestate is the best investment a middle class person can do, IMHO... so, I either go to detox tomorrow or the 16th) - We offically own the house now, but my 3rd trimester wife is like "why is it going to be different this time" -

Well, okay - everyone needs to have

This on this at all times. It is the ACLU "bust card" - it has saved my ass twice.

If you have a car - put in the same folder as your registration and insurance.
If you don't - put it in your wallet.

By giving the police officer this piece of paper you invoke all of your rights. From the X amount of time he or she has to run a warrant. To X amount of time he or she has to detain yu while writing a ticket (if waiting for k-9 unit to do a search)

I always buy the Denver Pharma's 2mg from Argentina. The Gadors and Alplax are bar shaped and look American. The Denver Pharma's are blue with NO markings, oval shape with a line on the back side. I can keep them in my generic "tagament" (hahaha) bottle and think about it - police are trained to know what illegal narcotics look like (pill wise.. remember though.. k9's can not smell RX pills.. so if all you have are RX pills in a stop... bring the K9 on!) So all they see is this blue oval shapped pill with no markings.

If asked why you gave the officer the card - just say "My sociology professor told me to" or "teacher" - related, etc. "I always carry it with me."

Print it out. Pass it out to all your friends.

I was an Obama-fanatic and got tickets to the Inaguration and Youth Ball and was an Intern for the 10th District of Florida... on smokedot.org I have an interview with Erin Hill about Obama's stance on marijuana reform laws.

If you can't stand the ACLU --- who cares? This might be the only good that comes from it if you have the disease (or whatever) of addiction.

Love you all and hope everyone is safe. Will post in my Detox thread from 3 weeks ago about my... detox journey getting off Suboxone AND Benzos.. (2 months ago I went to detox to get off Benzo's and that didn't work out to well.. and since they let me take Suboxone while in it... it cost some money...we all know money controlls the world)

But - yeah.

I wish all of you the best and am excited to go to Detox (14 days, state law in FL since it's benzos) and I'll still be out to help get my wife and child packed and everything moved in the U-haul and the electric allready has planned switch date - I've got everything covered.

Still going to 12step meetings daily. Does my sponor know I get suboxone legally? Yes. Does he know I'm illegaly hooked on Benzos? Yes. I don't care. "The greatest obession of any abnormal drinker is that he or she will be able to drink normaly again."

I gave 50 to the "old pill head lady" of the neighborhood who is sort of a saint. This town is filled with them now.

I wish all of you luck.

I printed it out.Thought it might be something that could come in handy. It was a waste of ink and paper.I dont see how any of the info on it could help a grown person.Im assuming that most adults know the info already. And I have no idea why a person would give this to a cop if stopped or whatever.

Like phaedros said I don't think that card would do shit in a stop. I bet a few cops I can think of would wright you extra tickets if you tried to hand that to them. Want something that might help get a FOP card signed by a high ranking officer and keep that near your licence for the cop to see.

Yeah, right---I've been in a situation where I had DEA and FBI agents pointing their fucking guns at me. They would have laughed and ripped it up in my fucking face if I'd have handed them this stupid card.

This is the real world, pal---try living in it.

Yes he very clearly was. I think on the Benzos for sure. But he made his point and its a good one.

Oh and it offers good advice. I don't think it is something I would hand to a police officer though.

I don't see a point in handing this card to a cop... In most major areas, the police stations will have a donation event - and if you donate a nice amount of cash you'll usually get a courtesy shield or little laminated courtesy card.

I had the monopoly board game spill all over my car, then the money/cards would fly around as I'd drive since i'd crack the sun roof... anyways, I got pulled over on day, and had to open my door since the window didn't go open if you rolled it down - so a ton of monopoly money falls out... the cop picked up the paper money, looked at it... laughed at it & said it was the first time he'd ever been bribed with monopoly money.

He ended up giving me a written warning for littering (not for the money falling out, for throwing firecrackers out while driving)

Some cops could be jackasses and throw your ass in jail for attempting to bribe an officer...

Yeah I was high when I wrote that - I almost want to re-write it without all my introspective mumbo jumbo and make it an important post.

That card is very important to have and like I said saved my ass TWICE.

Why give it to the cop? Try and do it accidentally. I have USAA... they gave me a little folder to keep my insurance and registration in... I also keep my title and some other car shit in their too, and that ACLU card) and then hand that to the police officer.

You immedietaly invoke all your rights - the cop knows you know how the game is played - and since most cops have 'dash cams' these days you're on video. They have an X amount of time to detain you while writing a ticket (varies from state to state) and even when calling a K9 unit and so forth.

This card lets them know, and invokes all your rights of the Constitution, that you know whats up and your just an oridinay person heading home.

The best card is just don't get caught.

The whole point is this is here in case you do. Hell, I've given it to Police when riding totally clean. Just like kopbusters.com where they set up the police on a marijuana house raid.

Gotta keep our 4th amendment alive - after the Bush administration we're lucky it is even still there.

Diluted- I KNOW I didn't read that you keep your car title IN THE CAR? Please tell me I read that wrong... that's a major no-no big guy, you have to know that.

As far as the "card" goes, I'm not sure how it would help, but what the hell, it can't hurt, right? My saving grace is having had my dad teach classes at the prison here, and half the city police force were students of his at one time or another in their college years... at the university, not the joint, LOL! So- if I get pulled, I usually don't get a ticket at all, and if I do, 9 times outta 10 the judge will ask "How's doc?" and throw out the charges.

Too bad I didn't have that luck with the felonies! Unfortunately- most of the prison guards remembered my dad from the old days, I can't tell you how embarrassing it was to have THEM ask how my dad was... but they treated me pretty well, so maybe it did help. That- and having my husband on the same yard at the same time didn't hurt either.

Go get that title and bring it in the house, right now!

Ahem... thanks for listening!

Cool post man.

Hey, I also had to get off Suboxone and benzos at the same time because my doctor suddenly lost his medical license and I couldn't get an appointment with anyone before my scripts ran out.

I had to go to detox, and they gave me phenobarbital to help with the benzos. I slowly tapered off the Suboxone myself. It was fucking horrible, I'm not gonna lie to you, it really sucked. I became a raging alcoholic when i had to get off benzos and got arrested twice within a month, blacked out.

I STRONGLY suggest you ask a doctor in detox about getting either Neurontin or Lyrica, they helped me out so much, I don't think I could have done it without them. most doctors are familiar with the effects, will understand why you want them, and since Neurontin is unscheduled, they almost never have a problem writing a script for it. Lyrica is schedule 5 cuz its more potent.

Anyways , good luck, you'll pull through if you want to.

I had a "get out of jail free" card from a needle exchange in NYC once. It said that I could not be arrested for having needles.

I got caught doing something stupid. I also had needles in my backpack. I showed the card to the cops. He took the card, read it, threw it on the ground and punched me square in the nose. I sure felt great about having that card.
