3 small changes that will go a long way

1) Raise the character limit in visitor messages on your profile from 1000 characters to something more bearable like 3000.

2) Install/turn on the vBulletin "multiquote" hack so that you can multi-quote posts in a thread, makes it MUCH easier when posting to reply to multiple people. No more copy/paste bullshit.

3) Upload some more smilies :puterwork

2)... multi-quote IS on! it's in the bottom right of each post, in the icon that looks like quotation marks.

As Rx said above, mulit-quote is on, we are currently working on the smilies, and the character limit is something we will have to discuss.

The character limit idea is a great one. Its a pain in the ass. Not so much when leaving messages when visiting someone's profile, but in the social groups is where I find it to be annoying.

i have left and been left so many visitor messages
that must be broken up into "part one" "part two" "part three" etc
it is quite annoying imo

I'm gonna change the character limit on profile messages (VM's) shortly.

It will be a while before we get more icons though.

Visitor messages now have a 2500 character limit. That should be enough for you chatter boxes out there.:D

Yay! Awesome. One more thing I might suggest is the "unread posts" hack that you can add on, it keeps a little icon next to the thread name with a little box and a number of unread posts, so that whenever you read a thread and go away from it, when you come back later on (and it's been updated with new posts) you can just click on the little box with the number of the unread posts and go right back to where you last were in the thread. It's pretty useful, especially for long threads.
