If you saw it I wonder what you thought of "Being There".
I was somewhat puzzled by the whole thing but then when you see the last ohhh...30 seconds of the movie it made a lot more AND less sense to me.
I dont want to say anymore in-case you haven't seen it.
Peter Sellers is the one of the greats that's fer shr.

I cant begin to tell you how great "Dr. Strangelove or How I learned how to stop worrying and love the bomb" is. It's Stanley Kubricks first "well known" movie and in my opinion his best work.
See if you can tell what three roles Peter Sellers plays in the movie.
Peter Sellers was the guy who did all the original Pink Panther movies and is reveared as one of the greatest physical comedy actors of all time. Strangelove and Being there showed his ability to do dramatic roles. Though Strangelove is a comedy it wont really seem that way until about 45 minutes into it. His ability to sink into a role is unmatched to date.
Coddfish have you ever seen "The life and death of Peter Sellers". It was a documentary about his...life and death. The name of the actor that played him is on the tip of my tongue but regardless get it quickly if you havent seen it. Im pretty sure it was an HBO production. He was a very fucked up dude. VERY!
Coma Id really like to hear what you think of strangelove when you see it. It's in my Top five movies ever with RA, Goodfellas, Cuckoos nest and Eternal Sunshine. I watch these movies on a bi-monthly basis. Along with episodes of The Twilight zone. They dont make TV like they used too.

Dr. Strangelove is fucking fantastic. I always wondered who Dr. Strangelove was, but recently found out that its actually a problem with the brain, that makes your hands do what they want.

But something to do now. And have you seen 'Casino Royale?' What about "What's New Pussycat?" Peter O'toole is in that; plays a nympho. Sellers plays his shrink, and has a Prince Valiant haircut that's f'n classic. And the old pink panther movies are fuckin classic. Professor balls, cato and his 'fiendish little yellow brain', goddammit it's good shit.

Geoffery Rush! Thats it.
Its more of a movie in which G. Rush plays Peter Sellers throughout different parts of his life than it is a documentary in the A&E sense. Never saw Casino Royale or Whats new Pussycat. Ill have to check it out.

I was lucky enough to go all most my whole life w/o seeing that movie, then one of my prof. made us watch it, some got up and left, but I need the class points - I never went - god I want back my time wasted on that thing.
Never saw the SNL skit, BUT if it had Hartman in it then it had to be good, why did that crazy fucker of a wife kill him. What a loss. :(

Saw it in Philly when I was 14, I was trying to make some chick, remember nothing of it though. I need to see it again.
Something that goes w/ that, a friend of a friend, :rolleyes: no?, was mushroomin' and was getting ready to eat chicken wings, he has since become a vegan, all from the "pop" the joint made when he pulled it apart.
I've told the story before, when we watched the Ex III my buddy and I saw the same hallucations, the other straight peeps in the room had no clue what we were on about. Adding to the weirdness.
I still get cold chills thinking about that film, fucked me right up.
That's one thing, I'd like to know more about, two people having the same hallucations, it'd seem impossible. But maybe it's more true to the fact. :confused:
