cesamet (nabilone) is a synthetic cannabinoid which is stronger than THC. in the prescribing info ( http://www.cesamet.net/fileRepository/prescribingInformation.pdf ) it says that there is a cross tolerance with opioids and potentiation. obviously I know cannabinoids potentiate opioids but what exactly do they mean by cross-tolerance?

Maybe that it has a weak affinity for the opiate receptors too? I have no idea. Isn't alcohol supposed to do that too? I don't know too much about the workings of alcohol or weed, but I think I remember someone on here saying that alcohol can sort of activate the mu opiate receptor, at least in alcoholics / opiate addicts brains. Other than that, I have no idea. Interesting though.

yeah in the cannabis thread in this forum there is info about some cannabinoids and how they interact with mu and other opioid receptors.
