ive been takin saboxone on and off for a few years now an i was just wondering how long you gotta let it sit under there an endure that gross taste that sometimes leaks out if ya don't form a perfect seal ....in other words after its physically disolved down to the goo how much longer..to make sure i get the most out of it i obviously wait as long as possible usually anywere from 20-30 min..of course there are those times when after 7 or 8 minutes an im sick an just swallow it with a drink but any expert opinions??

It depends on the dose. If you are taking 8 mg, break up the pill into smaller pieces so it will melt faster.
I use 2 mg pills, the little ones. The more I have under my tongue, the longer it takes to melt. But on average, for 8 pills it takes me about 5-10 minutes to melt fully.
Trick: rinse your mouth out well with hot water before you melt. Some people reportedly put an Altoid mint on top of their tongue when they're melting, but I think it would just make it taste worse.
Sure wish their was some faster/easier way to get the bupe into you.

Try not to swallow it ever---when you do that, you are essentially wasting it. Suboxone has very poor bio-availability; meaning that when it's ingested and dissolved through the stomach, not much of the drug actually gets into your system.

The taste is disgusting I know, but to be effective, sublingual is the best way to go with Suboxone.

Ok so i'm not getting a script right now an i can get well from 2-4 milligrams so if i hold it in for a good 15-25 min i should get the most out of it...i try to hold it so long that theres no taste of it left when i lift my toungue or veryy little

You should take no more than 4mg under the tounge at once, otherwise things get nasty. I used to take 4mg twice daily. The first time I used them was in a cvs parking lot; I had just drank a whole bottle of water.Medicine like tastes always make me sick so needless to say I puked. It was only water so there was a huge wet spot on my shirt. The taste becomes not such a big deal shortly and there is absolutly no need to swallow, just spit it out. Oh and 10 mins under the tounge is plenty.

I've never understood why the tabs are orange but the flavor is listed as lemon/lime. They should use the soft drink color coding - orange for orange and either yellow or green for lemon/lime.

Does anyone else ever stock their nose into their suboxone Rx bottle and sniff? The smell even hits the YUCK part in your nose.

One time I did this when I was dopesick and I puked on the spot. The smell is SOO nasty.
There's got to be a way to make the pill taste good, they just don't give a fuck enough to do it.

Maybe since Suboxone is more widely prescribed than Subutex they took that extra measure to prevent kids from eating them. Subutex tastes a tad bitter but I barely notice it if at all.

That may be the point, runormal, - to keep kids from eating them.
There was a near tragedy here in my city this week, a one year old got ahold of someone's subs. When they found him he was unconcious, & had to be intubated & flown to hospital. He's reportedly getting better, but very close call.
I particiapted in a paid survey ~6 months ago to determine what people would pay for suboxone in those melt on your tongue strips like they have for some kids antihistamines & some anti psychotics.
I would pay more for suboxone that was less nasty to ingest, that's for sure.
I think some people are lucky and don't have a lot of saliva build up in their mouth while they're melting, but I'm not one. Seems like by the time the grains of the pill are gone my mouth is full of spit. I always swallow, despte knowing the bioavailability of bupe is nil.

and the lemon taste is the added citric acid
i think it is psycological, any drug that is gonna make me "better" im gonna enjoy the taste of
(i used to love the taste of speed, but now-a-days i nearly puke even at the thought of the smell of it..)

I take my 8mg sub and crack it in half and put one half in each side of my mouth under the tongue and I rarely taste it at all tha tway and I leave it in there for about 30 minutes and it usually fully melts by then...

i always hated the taste and smell of heroin
but when i pulled the needle out and the essence flooded my nose and mouth
it was fucking delicious- same thing with meth (speed)

oh yeah- subs taste like fucking poison
just one more reason why i'd rather be sick than take bupe in any form

I put the 8mg Suboxone tab under tongue...keep head slightly tilted forward the whole time and DONT SWALLOW for about 10-15 mins. After that I usually have a mouthfull of spit (gross I know) and even then I leave that in mouth for another 2 mins or so...THEN one big nasty fucking swallow....ugh. About 10 minutes after that, I start to feel better))

First, I vote this as the most times the words "don't swallow" have appeared in the same thread ever on opiophile.

Second, just snort the shit. Its gross still, but it works better, and i actually kind of got to where I like it.

^^ I find snorting subs really fucks with my sinus's. I do get the 2mg ones though so it could be the filler. Like if I snort at night I'm always blocked up in the morning which just sucks balls. I wake up with my mouth all dry and coated with mucus. Another thing I've noticed is it seems to hurt like hell to snort when I have other opies in my system - like when I go a few days on 1mg in the morning and real opiates in the evening, then snort like 2-4mg (usually to end the weekend) it'll hurt like hell and my nose will run for the length of time it takes to kick in. I think it has something to do with mild precipitated withdrawals hitting me, I'll sweat for about half an hour and feel a bit shitty but generally get a pretty nice buzz off the subs.

Before i got booted from my sub doc, i found that plugging worked best with my daily dose, it gives ur subs a lil extra kick (in the butt) and lasted longer than intra nasally which was my fav. ROA.
