Never thought of it. I think you could, definitely, well, what I think is that it might be good to get some effect, like a slight stimulant effect from it - tramadol is a serotonin re-uptake inhibitor, like an antidepressant - well as an opiate agonist - but because it's kinda weak as far as the full-on opiate effects are concerned, you'd have to snort at least 2 whole pills of it (I mean 100mg of tramadol - two 50mg tablets), assuming that by snorting it, it would reduce the amount you need for opiate effect. I took tramadol a lot in the past until I learned that whenever I do so, I get a freakin' grand mal seizure, because I need so much, it's actually a OD. I'd need (orally) at least 250mg (five tablets) to get off, and have to repeat that in like 3 hours, after the second dose, the metabolite builds up to a level that can cause seizures.

so, I wouldn't waste any time tryin' it.

I always gotta say this when I post a reply on anything tramadol-related:

BE FUCKING CAREFUL WITH TRAMADOL! It causes seizures, especially in junkies who need a lot to get off on it, because with increasing dosages, it is more and more likely to cause seizures. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE ON ANY TYPE OF SSRI (zoloft, prozac, et cetera).

It happened to me twice, in 1997 and in 1999. I was mindin' my own business one minute, kinda high on ultram, and then WHAM! Next thing I know, I'm on the ground with paramedics looking at me trying to keep that stupid oxygen mask on my face, which I'm trying to pull off because it feels like it's strangling me.

Anyone else have a seizure from taking ultram???

I had one seizure after taking Tramadol. Back in 2005, I was sitting on the couch with my notebook computer. The next thing I know, I'm waking up (all confused and REALLY tired). My wife said my seizure lasted about two minutes. I was off work for ten months.

Why where you off of work for 10 months? I had a TON of Tramdol for a while.... i was taking like 240mg a day. Is it possible you were already prone to seizures and this aserbated the problem? How much Tramdol did you take? Hope you feel better now.

As far as snorting it.. to put it bluntly. You would be wasting your time. Your not going to get a better affect even if you get it to work perfectly. It may work slightly faster sense it takes so long to work but nothing good will come from snorting it. It wont be any better then just taking it plus its very possible it will burn like a bitch.

Very true satori tramadol needs the same enzyme as codeine to make it into M1 which is the most active metabolite, tramadol don’t do much by its self, but I defiantly got an effect from snorting it tho it was not a opiate buzz. Tramadol is a complicated drug its not just the opiate receptors it binds too it has effect on serotonin and norephrine as well.

Im young (20) and have REALLY bad arthritis in my knee's and terrible back problems because i used to Skate(board), Skate(SKATES) and BMX. I was in the ER quiet often and in one accident hit a cement pillar after rolling for 10 feet (neck injury). If weather changes my whole body starts to hurt and sometimes it hurts to bend my knee's. I usualy try to work through it but.... it sucks. I never did manual labor like antony though so its mainly confined to knee's. DAMNED TEENAGE YEARS!

Wow are you serious? i never knew this aspect of tramadol. I had read up on it but... WOW i had no idea. Could this be why after taking it for 3 weeks i would get so depressed i couldnt leave my room? Seriously.... it would be that bad. It happend once and i thought i was just getting depressed. I lost a bunch of weight and realllllly considered killing myself. I wasnt being over dramatic and only spoke to my mother about it but it seemed like a valid option if it kept up like it was (the mental pain). The second time i got depressed on it i went "oh wow it might be the tramdol" and stopped right away. Do you have any idea if it can have long term affects/damage?

If you dont have a strong opiate tollerance tramadol can seriously mess you up (the good type of messing up). However its very racey. it feels like opiate but it also feels like 2-3 cups of coffee were mixed with it (also dont drink coffee with it). lol

wtf? now that i think about it, swim was going through a bad w/d when he ate 1, so that wouldn't get him fucked, and the last time he was coked up, so he didn't feel it either.

like someone else posted earlier, I believe, tramadol affects serotonin and norepinephrine levels....norepi is the precursor to: EPINEPHRINE aka adrenaline....

I imagine that might be why some people have seizures on it and also why many, including myself, could only take it during w/d and not feel all irritable or just plain awful....the norepinephrine factor

If your saying Antony is a pretty good looking guy then I guess I have to re-evaluate my sexuality because the picture I'm seeing makes me very randy.......Hot stuff.
Is that your sister maybe?

The action of Tramadol is really unknown. It is thought to bind to opioid receptors and inhibit the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine. It is not listed as an SSRI, but is actually found to be classified as an analgesic.

Tramadol does lower the seizure threshold and if your at risk for seizures, you should really take it only as prescribed and not raise the dosage.

I wouldn't know about snorting it, I only took it once and it never did anything for me at all. I never did like snorting anything though either!

Yikes, I wouldn't snort. Binders n' stuff. And besides, tramadol isn't even an opiate. Bah.

That just cracks me up. We can sell drugs to ourselves and not know how or why they do what they do....Genius species.

Afterthought: Personally, I start with 4 @ 50 mg's each. Usually with a small meal taken befure, such as a granola bar or egg or something. Sometimes I start to feel it about 30 minutes later. And then again, Sometimes I have to take 4 more before I feel anything. One time I took about 9 and was nauseous for about 6 hours!! Oh and I am well aware about the seizure risk factor, you all should be too by now I'm sure. Anyway, the high, when it's good, is similiar to taking a few straight up oxycodones. It can last 12 hours, and doesn't itch. I'd definately call the high one of those "restless" ones, where you get squirmy.

Afterthought two: That squirmy, restless, sleepless high can really SUCK sometimes, doesn't it?
