View Full Version : Bupe and Booze- Danger Factor...

In your experience, is it as dangerous to mix bupe with alcohol as it is to mix a full agonist....?
In people with a tolerance to opiates, it is less likely for something like bupe by its self to cause dangerous respiratory depression than a full agonist. . .
But does that change significantly when you add booze to the mix? Don't get me wrong, I know that anything is more dangerous combined. But are you literally "playing with fire" when you mix bupe and booze the same way that getting drunk and doing a large shot of dope is asking for a permanent nod. . .? or is it a little more forgiving due to the antagonist properties?
Have you, or anyone that you know first hand, had a close call or bad experience that can be attributed directly to bupe and booze colliding in a bad way?
From my experience, it has not been nearly as significant as a full agonist.
If I have taken a full agonist (say 80mg OC) and drink, I get real heavy and woozy and it is quite impactful. However, on sub (say 2-4mg), it is far far less impactful when I drink. I have gotten pretty good and wasted on booze and forgotten I had even taken sub.
Several of my friends are heavy drinkers and take between 8-24mg of bupe a day with no ill effects yet.

I think the question is whether or not the person is an active addict. If so: bup does jack shit, so there's not much to potentiate (I fall into this but seem to be rare in that I consistently feel ~1mg with or w/out potentiators - it's mild, but I feel it and would regularly mix drink, benzos and opiates or bup).
Opiate naive people are probably a different story, and I know bup is widely used recreationally by non-addicted, opioid-naive people who react to it not unlike MD - very long lasting, I've heard as much as a couple days for some people at the 2-4mg range. My guess is people like the latter would be at risk, but I haven't heard any bup od stories 'cept for the years old shooting-bup-and-benzos-in-yurp ODs..

I ate 32mg of bupe and drank a bottle of wine.
I am going to hold off on taking my lunesta and laying down.....
Instead, I am going to stay up until the wine wears off a bit. I am not real worried about it, but I don't see any need to invite danger any more than I do by leading my already "questionable" lifestyle.
I usually use 16 mg of bupe..... Used to be a heavy drinker, but don't hardly touch the stuff anymore. It would still take two bottles of wine to get drunk, three to get trashed, but being that I don't take these substances together that often, I am going to play it safer and stay up.
I have ahd a couple of bad experiences underestimating dope and benzos (i.e., foaming at the mouth, turning blue, etc...) and have no desire to underestimate some other potentially lethal cocktail.
Thank you for your experiences! I would like to hear what all of you have to say!

Isn't 32mg a hell of a lot?

Isn't 32mg a hell of a lot?
Double my prescribed dose....
For someone who abuses meds, double isn't really too bad.... I have been known to take five to ten times the recommended dose (not of Bupe!!!).... but say xanax....
32mg is the maximum recommended prescribed dose of bupe in the US. Also, 32mg is more commonly used if you are going to do every second day dosing (i.e., skip a day). I am not going to take any tomorrow just to see how this works compared to daily dosing.

Chemical_Boy - if it's your script, you're probably fine. You've been around awhile, I assume you fall into the "I'm a little TOO familiar with opiates" category.
SeVeN: To my understanding, 32mg is a fuck of a lot of an antagonist. At that dosage I think it blocks more than it activates. Smaller dose would probably produce more agonism is my guess..
Short answer: Yes.
