Stephen Colbert talks infront of bush on saturday. LMFAO!!!! Fantastic.

Some reports were made that bush and his wife were really pissed off so they left really fast (you can see him get angry 1/2 through).

Sofar this thread has done but only one thing for me. It has shined a spotlight on the sin of sloth; the sin in which, apparently, my computer chooses to feverently indulge in.

If my computer were my son I'd say with some uncertainty before a large swig off a martini "I guess the apple doesn't fall (gulp) far from the tree." I execute the fake smile perfectly.
My guests laugh but at this time I can only think of my sons future and his dwindling opportunities....rebooting...rebooting...rebooting ...
Good looks satori and sorry about that little malfunction there I got a little caught up in my brainess going's on and shit.

Yes, he's a funny fucker, but it's the same as people like madonna, the rolling stones, etc., etc. "Their so cool, they don't care who they piss off!" Yeah, right. If he was gonna LOSE a lot of money or damage is cred by saying the same things, then he wouldn't say them.

Come on Coddy you gotta give him some credit. I mean a lot of comics would have and have in the past toned down their jokes for that "prestigious" audience. Colbert definately didn't.To do it so casually and fearlessly....in this day and age that's just fucking unheard of. Someone at a podium telling the pres. how it is in front of all his colleagues(sp?), supporters, friends, family. That's just...I dont know it blew my mind. The fact that that tape wasnt confiscated and destroyed.
Your entitled though Coddman...as we all are.

I give him all the credit in the world. He is one of only 2 or 3 shows I will ever watch when I am around a tv. He is funny as hell, I mean quick. And ballsy, ok. But there is a reason you and I like him and watch his shit and make him money. To say he doesn't care who he pisses off. . . . .barf. He wouldn't piss off all his viewers. He gets PAID to fuck with power people, and the result is that people all over the world are talking about him. Which gets him paid.

I can agree with that completely. It jsut sucks that all great men nowadays have to go through such a shitty system in order to get themselves heard. And once they do that and people hear them they automatically lose credit for being a part of it. Selling out or whatever.

Alright, one more try and then I'm leaving off. Yes, the guy has guts, but to say he doesn't care, that he does what he wants without thinking of the consequences is misssing the point. Do you think his highly polished tv persona, a crew of crack comedy writers, and a contract with comedy central worth millions is just who he is, 'fuck what people think of me?' Did he build a media monster by saying 'fuck everyone, I'll do what I want?' What risk is he taking by fucking with the President? Lose his job? No. Then what? He is not dumb; he knows EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING. He works very hard to be who he is on tv. We don't know Stephen Colbert, we know who he is on tv. We gave him the power to fuck with people, because we like to see that. If we didn't he would at best be a decent stand-up comic. His value as a PROFESSIONAL ENTERTAINER comes from fucking with people. The more he fucks with people the more valuable he is: to me, you, and his employers. Damn, I'm done.

coddfish is right. although i never saw him when he was at second city (i think i was too young) his character is basically the same as it was on Strangers With Candy (except he'd run off to the boys room with the art teacher he he), him Amy Sedaris, and Paul Dinello worked together at Second City. It's his method to his comedy. It's a fine practice of ballbusting that he's acheived, and I could only wish I could do. (think along the lines of Sacha Baron Cohen "Ali G")

YEA! but guess what, no one has EVER done that to bush. And for all he knows he could have ended up getting black balled. But thats not the point, no one said he was superman or he was doing it for charity. he would be the first to say he's doing this so he can buy 100 slaves and have them cary his throne from his house to his car which runs on the teers of baby kittens that were rejected for not being patriotic enough. Even when he was on the daily show this was his persona and befor that as well. Its HOW he acts, its his way of proving a point. Some just act like themselfs and attack the other side. But instead he BECOMES the other side and doesnt spin it. He says what there saying blunty so as not to hide its meaning.
