What strains have you smoked?

I was reading pinn3d's post in another thread talking about weed, and sometimes finding out the name of the strain he's buying. Weed is a common staple for many of us. Personally, it does a lot in helping my pain at night. I'm not stoned 24/7 mind you, I only smoke at night, and maybe here or there on the weekends. So what strains have you smoked before? I'll give a rundown of the names I have smoked.

I've had Mexican, Canadian and Afghanie, both Indica and Sativa. I've smoked the most shit-brown headache inducing weed you'll ever see, I've smoked buds that smell like you ran over a skunk (BEFORE even lighting it) and all in between. Then of course there's all the laced shit. Sherm was fucking gross, never again. I've smoked weed laced with heroin, coke, PCP, anti-depressants, and muscle relaxers. The stupid shit you do when you're younger...

I have not smoked weed in almost 15 years. Damn, I did not realize how long it's been. But, back when I did smoke, my favorite was always some Humboldt kind buds from a friend out in California. On their own they were fantastic. But, rolling up a few buds in a blunt with a quarter gram of coke sprinkled over it put me in another fucking dimension. I loved it.

Yeah, but how can you really be sure that what you are buying is the strain that the dealer says it is? Even if the seller is your oldest and dearest freind pot goes through so many hands who's to say that the person selling it to him was honest and so on down the line. I think that the only real way to know what strain of pot one has is to obtain the seeds of the strain you want and grow it yourself. Personally it's just too easy to buy great weed and too much of a hassle to maintain a crop for me... I don't care if it's called blueberry yum fuck or not.

I have absolutely no idea. It was weed. I don't really know that much about it. I learned about the Indica / Sativa thing just a few months ago when Roxi was talking about the difference between a head high and a body high (Indica is more prone to produce one, whereas Sativa produces another--forgot already which is which). I know some was hydroponically grown, whatever that means. It all smelled like shit though. I hate the smell of weed.

I usually don't know. Even if someone says it's this or that... But when I first started smoking in 1988 real, real good weed was rare. Back then I usually knew the strain, grower, everything of the "good" weed. Now, there seems to be A lot of good weed going around and some people make shit up. I'm just happy the abundance of "kind" bud quality has improved over the years. It's easy to find now and I like it...

When I grew my own (always outdoors) I knew what it was. I used to grow a strain of Northern Lights #5. It was excellent for the climate here. It would be fully mature outdoors by the first week of October give or take a few days. It was a 90% Indica 10% Sative strain and Indicas mature much earlier in this area. If you try to grow Mexican Sativas here you have to be very lucky to get good mature buds before the first hard freeze kills them. The first frost doesn't usually kill them off but a long night in the 20's will.

Yeah I kinda miss growing....not a bad job really... I was making more money than I am now bartending, and waiting tables, but the two other guys I was working with were getting real strung out on pills, and were becoming intolerable to work with.... They were into the business before I was, they had all the connections for selling it, etc. and they took me under their wing....

It just got to where they kept expanding... putting up new grow rooms, working harder and harder each day- and they were too paranoid to hire any help... finally we hired this dude who I ended up training, but the work load was just ridiculous... I was getting up at 5AM, calling my helper and designating where we had to be--- which rooms needed bending, watering, feeding, under-trimming---- there's a lot more work than people think---- and the drive-time commutes were ridiculous cuz the rooms were far away from eachother... like 4hrs driving each day--- finally getting home late at night just to have to get up early again tomorrow... and I had like ZERO days off..... In the whole year I worked for these guys I maybe had 5 days off....

They just became over-bearing, ego-istic, and over-zealous... and greedy..... I mean we could have cut back, just had a few rooms, made a nice chunk a change every harvest, and lived a nice balanced life....but they were determined to expand expand expand, make several $million and retire... but they were just fryin themselves.....

I just couldn't take it.....I miss the trim parties, and the endless suply of free weed, but looking back on it, I'm healthier now than I was back then.... now i'm living like a fucking normal human being, get some days off and time to THINK...

But part of me wants to do it again someday... but I would rather keep a low-profile and just supplement my income instead of trying to make $millions and living like Tony Soprano and shit....

All in all a great learning experience though;)

so true. i got an oz of weed called donkey dick about 6 months ago. i highly doubt that was the actual name of it. as it goes down the line, i think ppl forget and just call it whatever they want. i don't know one from the other, but i definitley the difference between good weed and incredible weed by looking at it.

There is a real strain named Donkey Dick, named that because of the extremely large colas that plant produces.

Yeah, actually Donkey Dick was really popular amongst the rural growers down here since they could sacrifice a little bit of THC % for MASSIVE looking and weighing buds, which I mean, cheaper price, huge buds, who's not gonna buy that? Also, don't know where the strain started, but the best in the midwest right now that i've been around has been this shit called Hog's Breath, which is a really really light green, like, blindingly light green, with huge dark red/brown hairs, like rediculous hairs, and light/normal crystal dusting. It is so harsh, and so odd tasting for a weed (almost like black licorice mixed with fresh lawn clippins, cant really explain it) that that's where it gets it's name. Don't be fooled, though, the shit is the heat. Deisel was popular around here for a while, as was Matanuska (supposed to be a strain from alaska, just looks and feels like a northern lights #5 hybrid), and someone had some ACTUAL Purple for a while, that was straight up PURPLE, lol, it was almost hauntingly purple, like redtarded. And that shit was the HEAT at the time, also had some shit from Hawaii that a friend of mine sent himself in the mail when he moved out of his parents military housing and back to the midwest. Back in the day this local botany student made some crazy hybrid he called Green Crack, and he packaged them into rose tubes for the sell, to, was some funny shit, that shit was wierd, like, i know it wasnt actually crack, but it was the most amped up weed ever, like heavy cerebral nugget buzz, no body high at all, all head high. It was funny because the dude was selling them in those rose tubes, and people in the know were running out to get a twenty piece....of weed, lol, it was so funny.

The bud that I smoke is 90% of the time some kind of quality nugz, but the other 10% it is one of the 3 strains above, when it is available (every couple of months some comes along).

I'd have to say that my favorite would have to be the northern lights. I just love the taste, and I love the high that I get from northern lights, its seriously, to me, a noticable difference in high's that is far superior to any other high I get from smoking pot).

All time favorite strains would have to be Trinity, Lambsbread or The Mothership. Mmmmmm, just thinking about those makes my mouth water. As of right now, I've been smoking on this stuff called Ice Cream and another strain called Super Skunk. They are ok. Definitely not my top faves. Lately, in the past year or two, there has been a LOT of Northern Lights x Hawaiian and I got really sick of it. Glad I havent seen it in a while. Umm, lets see I've always loved the flavor of a good blueberry. I know a lot of weed snobs around here (myself included), especially up in Asheville, so theres never a problem finding something worthwhile to smoke. In the last couple of years there has also been a lot of Strawberry Cough, Sour Diesel, Lambsbread, Trainwreck, Headband, Purple Kush, Silver HAze, and I cant think of any more at the moment. Actually Green Crack is a medical clone-only (no seeds ever available) strain available in dispenseries in California. Been around for a while in the medical community, funny how people take credit for creating these exotic strains. It's not as easy as it sounds to make your own STABLE hybrid. Takes alot of trial and error. The strain is mostly Sativa so that is why it's a speedy cerebral high with little or no body buzz.

Broke me leg all to shit, bones sticking out of my shin - to tell the truth; I love bone marrow baked and spread on toast, it's one of the true joys of life and that's one of the things I was thinking while I was laying on the ground looking at the inside of my leg bones - how that taste? Then I woke up in the hospital. My girl said I never passed out but I don't remember much of it, doc said my body shut down to keep from killing me. I never knew you could die from a broken leg.....

Yeah man, I was laying 1.5' by 1.5' pavers in the ground (trying my best at home repair:rolleyes:) they are like 2.5" thick and maybe 20-25 pound (I'm guessing) I place two on top of a ladder and rested my leg on one of the treads, I went to straighten my leg, and the ladder moved and down they came, snapped it just like a karate kung fu guy would a board. It's when i landed on the leg that the bones were driven through the skin. I have a high threshold for pain, have had teeth drilled n filled at the dentist w/ no gas or novocaine. But I was in shock so the pain was there but I just didn't feel it, it was one of those out of body type dealies....ya know, is this real or what kind of thing.
When I woke up it hurt REALLY FUCKING BAD!! Of course that could be from the two doc's that were slicing my leg apart like a ham hock and drilling fucking wood screws into my bones.....

It was just a dumb fuck moment, where my mind wasn't on what I was doing....
Ladder on the ground; unstable. Put 40 or 50 pounds on top of an unstable platform and then wiggle it around, but fuck had I known this is all I had to do to get some good meds....:rolleyes:

Well there is a strain called Donkey Dick.. really skunky, had some when I was in London.

Anyways, I can't puff till next month... there is a .000001 percent chance I will have to take a drug test at the end of the month... supposedly they pick 6 people from my office and test them there is over 60 of us and I've never talked to a person that has been tested, but its good to take a break anyways.

A buddy and me at a half of an herb brownie saturday at a show and were laid the hell out. We are both vets and have been puffing and going to shows and shit for a long time. It was pretty funny.

I started smoking weed when I was twelve. Back then it used to cost $10 a bag..........It was a baggie full measured by using your fingers. A full bag should be four fingers. It was called a four finger "lid" (you fellow old timers remember). It was Mexican weed called commercial. Sometime in the later 70's more exotic weed started to replace commercial. Names like Panama Red,Columbian Gold, Thia Sticks were very common............The price went way up too. $30 or more a bag. I was freaked out the first time I saw someone using a scale to measure the amount of a bag. Also common was hash and hash oil. $10 a gram for hash...........$15/$20 a mil. for oil. I smoked all my life but have slowed way down in the last couple yrs.

Now when I do smoke its whatever that a friend offering has. Have some friends in vermont that bring back crazy shit. Like, you can't drive, you can't get up from the couch, everything that falls outta your mouth is nonsense, etc. Now when I smoke I get super paranoid, its just not as fun anymore.
