So something has been happening to me for the past month and a half or so that is starting to freak me out. Everytime I'm banged up on oxy I will be sitting here either in a mini-nod or just sitting here wide awake but high and my body will violently jerk. My head, arms, and legs jerk so hard that my entire body flails.
So my question is is this cause for concern? Should I be worried? I mean this bugs me the hell out everytime it happens. And it only happens at night when I'm high, it never happens during the day. Does this happen to anyone else? What causes this? It ain't like a mini-seizure is it?
I'm hoping that maybe Candy or PoppyLvr can weigh in on this due to them being health pros, but if anyone at all has an idea why this is happening I will be greatly appreciative.

Nah man, don't worry...
I get the same thing both from oxys and from morphine. My guess would be, that it has something to do with the way that opies interact with your wake/sleep cycle, and that they put part of your brain asleep during a really good nod.
A lot of weird shit can happen right as you're falling asleep or waking up...
If you really want something to concern you, I'd put the fact that you're a grown man, and a proud juggla/ICP fan on top of my list, but hey, what do I know... :p

Haha I been hearing that my whole life bout being an ICP fan but I been listening to them for 12 years now and their music is deeper than most people think. Their message is about living your life the right way and never to lose your "shine", shine meaning your innosence (sp?). Their message is deep. All them songs that seem violent and comical have underlying tones, they are saying this is not how to live your life. I mean some of em are just random songs but some are real deep. They told a story for 14 years known as the Six Jokers Cards that is talking about dying and going through the afterlife/judgement. each Jokers Card is another step until you get to the 6th, which is The Wraith aka Death and depending on how you life your life he takes your hand and either brings you to Shangri-La or Hell's Pit. Believe it or not the "Dark Carnival" that they rap about is God. Seriously give a song by them called "Thy Unveiling" a listen to and your mind will be blown. Their music and especially that song has gotten me through a lot of hard times.

The Great Milenko is going to kick your ass, you know that right? Be afraid! VERY AFRAID!
(Disclaimer: Not exactly sure who it is, except it's the only thing I remember, from that weekend 11 years ago that was the last time I listened to ICP... )
Well, i'll forgive the fact that you like ICP for NOW (just kidding, i don't care man, i can't stand em but i don't judge based on musical preferences....except for those assholes who listen to whale songs....i know they're planning something, and those whale CD's are really coded messages to the minions from their whale overlords) and fill you in.
There was already a topic about this, but there's no way you could have found it by searching, the topic title was unrelated, and you'd have to have already seen the topic to know what to search for.
Anyway, it's called a hypnic (or hypnagogic, same thing) jerk. Lots of people get them, and while they might TECHNICALLY be a seizure, they're more related to hiccups than an epileptic seizure, and more importantly are PERFECTLY NORMAL. here's the wikipedia article on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnic_jerk . not very long, but it's all cited (for those of you who say wikipedia is bullshit, it can be, but that's why you check the sources it cites) to reputable sources so it's accurate.

I do know that at higher doses, muscle spasms can occur. I would not worry about it.
If it becomes more persistant or aggravating, without meds, I would go see a doctor!

Happens to me too! I'll just be sitting here realxing after snorting some oxys, kind of in that twilight not exactly nodding but kind of spacing out,and all of a sudden my arm will violently jerk, I mean hard and way up over my head! My leg will do it too. Weird,it jerks me out of my "happy place". Bugs me...

Dr. House just said it's called a Myo____ something jerk. He said it's caused by your brain sending a pulse/jolt to your body because your respiration gets low and your brain thinks it's dying. It's normal when it happens while falling asleep
