Well how long is fent active upon removle of the patch? How long will it be absorbing from what is left in/under my skin and all?

The only info I can find is that it remains in the system for 24hours after removle. Hah, byt what about the ;effect' not the total life of the drug...

I believe I knew someone that would suck on the patch gel, then spit his saliva in a cup and use it the next day. So I think it can last a while. As long as there is gel left and it hasnt evaporated, I think there are still goodies in em.

As far as experience has placed me, it seems after a patch is detached, it doesn't work anymore. Try what you will: suck out the gel, save it, freeze it, whatever, and maybe it'll work. I've never known it to though.

Personally.

Good luck, though, nevertheless.

I think he's asking once he takes the patch off, how long will he still be able to feel the effects~OR NOT feel the w/d's ??

If you've been on the patch for awhile, it may take eight hours before you need any other opiates to cover you...I would go to ePocrates.com or rxlist.com and just find a package insert for the patches...unless you have one with your current patches...and not talking about the one patient's get...this is the thick, folded packet with all the very, very fine print usually left for the pharmacist. It will have charts on it showing drug levels in the bloodstream with all the varying ranges...

I apologize if I misunderstood you...but I felt fairly certain that was what you were asking...

The solution that the patch is applying to your skin should remain after the patch is removed until all of the remaining portion has been absorbed (half hour?). If your asking because you think you may need to take it off to avoid getting too high of a dose you should be able to wash off the remaining portion on your skin with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.

Uh, not really...

The medication is transdermal...meaning it is absorbed INTO the skin aka derma/epiderma, etc...until it reaches the capillary bed and enters the bloodstream...you can't really "wipe" it off once it's been pulled into the tissue that way...You probably wouldn't even notice but a trace of moisture on the outer skin that may or may not be medication; could just be perspiration.

Perhaps Candy could lend a word of authority here and help us out with some figures/facts?
