My curiosity got the best of me, and I cracked and ordered some of the powdered coca leaf from Peru. I have been tracking the shipment online with Canada Post...and it arrived in the country yesterday, and "International item has been sent to Canadian Customs for processing" as stated on the site. I guess this is the part where the gamble of whether or not customs will allow this parcel through. I live in CA, and I'm not sure if they would be more or less strict then the US. I noticed that it did come into the country via Quebec...so at least it came into one of the "sketchier" parts of CA (hehe) where maybe they aren't looking for something as petty of some ground coca leaves...

Hopefully this works out...I'll post when I hear more from customs...

I ordered 10 boxes of a 100 tea bags per box coca tea into the US and it got here. When I went to pick it up at the mail-store you could smell the fragrant package throughout the place. Large bulky tyvek, like a big ball over knee high, that had 10 tea boxes thrown in got here just fine :).

I'm not too worried about what I would say...hell, I don't even think it's actually illegal in Canada. I looked around and couldn't find any definitive answers either way. It says it went into customs for proccessing on the 24th. I haven't had an update since then...I have never ordered anything, except a bayonet once, from the US. Does anyone know; is this waiting period normal? ...or is this a package I should just forget about, hehe:(

Damn! I guess mine ain't coming....I looked on the tracking site, and the last entry is still the one saying it went to the customs for processing...
I am confused though...if they don't decide to let it through, do they just take it and that is that? Would the Canada Post tracking website not update to reflect that?

I'm in the U.S and it took like a month to get here - don't know what process it went through, but didn't apear to have been inspected really. The company I used, Peruvian Herbals or someting, said they mailed to the U.S. all the time with no trouble. In fact, I used a couple of bags in my morning tea ceremony today. It's pretty good, nothing that's going to grab you by the balls. (I made a damn fast commute this morning though.) Of course, I haven't brewed anything over 2 bags at a time. It's a diferent wake-up than caffeine. But, I don't think you'll have any problem getting it unless some new guy on the job is over-zealous or something, it looks liike tea and smells like tea. If nothing else, you could say, "Oh, coca, I thought it was cocoa, like where chocolate comes from!" I feel like you'll get it within the week....

Ive had packages sit at customs for up to three weeks before, at least if the packages have cheap postage, the urgent/priority packages always seem to come in a little quicker.

I order whole leafs from a private supplier, there is DEFF. a HUGE difference between the bags i have orderd and whole leaf. I dont like using it very often but i enjoy it much more then coffee and doesnt make me jittery. Great stuff, the tea can be good but if u can make a wad some how that can work best. You can even take a coffee fiter, put wettend grounds into it, and put that into the side of your cheek.

I ordered some from an auction site. The seller was located in Peru. It's been about 7 days...I'm expecting it any day now. I wouldn't worry about customs - from what I've heard they aren't worried about small amounts of coca tea.
