I just signed a few of the petitions on in regards to getting Medical Marijuana in New Jersey.
Join the Compassionate Use Campaign!
The Compassionate Use Campaign was created to advocate for access to medical marijuana for seriously ill New Jerseyans.
The Compassionate Use Campaign supports New Jersey Senate Bill No.119 and Assembly Bill No.804 which would allow
seriously ill patients to have access to medical marijuana with a doctor’s recommendation. Thirteen states (Alaska,California,
Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington) currently
have such compassionate use laws.
You can join the Compassionate Use Campaign by filling out and sending a Campaign Response Form. Forms are available
online at www.drugpolicy.org/newjersey, or call 609-396-8613 to have a form mailed or faxed to you. Your name may
then be listed among the members of the Campaign on our website and/or in printed materials. In addition, you can indicate on
the response form if you would like to help with the Campaign by writing letters to legislators, attending Campaign strategy
meetings, attending legislative hearings, or testifying at legislative hearings.
Send an internet action alert to legislators
Go to www.drugpolicy.org/newjersey and send an Action Alert fax to legislators supporting medical marijuana access in
New Jersey. It’s easy! Just fill out the form with your name and address and press “send.” Automatically the letter will be
faxed to the Governor and leaders in the New Jersey Senate and Assembly.
Get other individuals or organizations to join the campaign or send a fax
Tell others about this critically important issue and ask them to join the Campaign. If you belong to an organization, see if
they would be willing to join.
Write or call your legislator
Now is the time to call or write your state legislators. Tell them to vote to allow access to medical marijuana. To find out how
to reach your state legislators visit http://njleg.state.nj.us/. Be sure to identify the specific legislation or bill number and briefly
explain how the issue affects you.
Join the Drug Policy Alliance
The Drug Policy Alliance is the nation’s leading organization working to advance drug policies based on science, compassion,
health and human rights. Drug Policy Alliance New Jersey is dedicated to advocating for legislation to allow seriously ill
patients access to medical marijuana in New Jersey. Visit our website at www.drugpolicy.org/newjersey to learn more.
Together we can make a difference and ease suffering in New Jersey!
