Anyone else's mouth get numb after taking a shot?

I was curious...lately I've been doing a fair amount of this REALLY nice off-white Asian powder that is absolutely delicious and VERY pure - dissolves like snow into water, I don't even need to filter it but I choose to. Anyway, I get a really numb sensation on my tongue and gums and my mouth in general after I do a fat blast. Anyone get the same thing?

Yeah, but it was never the heroin itself that did it...some kind of cut, weird...I used to know the name of it...something like procaine ...or something like that..., some anesthetic sounding name...numbed mouth and gums, but dope wasn't that good, so it probably doesn't apply...it was a long time ago...and Cal dope was always getting cut w/strange things...I'm sure somebody on here knows the cuts they use nowadays...used to be mostly mannitol, I think, but I've never heard of heroin doing that...

Not something I've ever heard of, unless of course, you're really talking about heroin's fuckheaded stepbrother, cocaine..

yeah I was thinking cocaine but he'd feel the cocaine probably and not just the numb mouth. It could have been some other form of caine, though most of them came in liquid filled vials, I never saw a powder version when my dad worked on my teeth. Strange though, I've never run across that feeling with dope before

Cocaine was the first thing that came to mind too, but that's definitely not it...it only happens with really BIG shots that I'm doing with this stuff. Makes my hearing go kind of deaf too for a little bit, like I've got cotton in my ears or something. I've had lidocaine liquid in an ampule before, I used to inject that subcutaneously or IM for fun to numb an injection site, it's definitely not that. Could be one of the random cuts mixed in, but it'd have to be something fully water soluble because this shit literally drops into water and melts instantly, it's so beautiful looking when it does too.:D

You know I've had some dope that tastes really heavily in my mouth....made it water, but I can't say it was ever a numbing sensation. I'd say it was more of a warming sensation. One of my favorite things about shooting coke waiting a second then suddenly tasting that taste and getting my throat all numb. But that shit is the devil.....yuck.

Diesel tell me more about numbing the injection site, that sounds pretty crazy! Would you do that to avoid the pain of having to stick yourself a hundred times before finding a vein?

Luckily I have really good veins and I've always had pretty good technique when it comes to shooting up so I don't have to poke myself more than 2 times (at most) to hit a vein. I just have a needle fetish and liked to shoot the lidocaine too...couldn't feel the needle going in at all after I did that.

Hmmm making you gums numb and your hearing go? Does sound like cocaine. Is is possible they are mixing a small amount of coke with your dope? I would say it's the cut for sure; could be ProCaine, Lidocaine, Benzocaine, Tetracaine, etc; they can all cause that numbness and ringing in the ears/ loss of hearing. I would bet that whoever is cutting your dope (could be anyone from the big guy all the way down to your dealer) sells alot of cocaine too and they are just using the same cut for both; strange but definitely not unheard of.

And btw, someone said they never saw or heard of Lidocaine, Benzocaine, etc powder. It does exist for sure, 100%.

There have been a few times after using that my lips have gotten numb--I don't know about the whole mouth. I was never quite sure what to attribute that to anyhow!
