It is a fact that after 24 hours of fasting the body starts releasing endogenous opioids into bloodstream as a srot of survival defense. this is possibly a reason for the psychoactive effects that people using fasting can sometimes achieve. Fasting is also a common preperation for some entheogenic voyages, possibly endogenous opioids may moderate the total effect? Jonathan Ott in his book Pharmacophilia the Natural Paradises talks about how researchers in europe suspect that anorexia patients may feel some sort of reinforcent to "fast" due to the fact of builindg a tolerance to the effects of their bodys own opioids. tolerance effects from endogenous opioid release have been demonstrated by scientists on some subjects to correspond to an average of 30 mgs of morphine a day when these subjects performed strenous exercise that lends to the "runners high" effect. I suspect that opiate release into the body is what I feel after a good warm up skateboarding, after I get loosened up and reach that plateau of physical dexterity. Daily exercise of this sort can definitley produce some anxiety in some people when retreating from the exercise regimine for a day or two. I always felt alot better at night and such when hanging out after a good day of exercise. So I wonder what a drug vaccine would do to people who want to work out, or who have anorexia? make their problems worse somehow? make the pain of exercising unbearable? Perhaps this is why certain people starve themselves when kicking dope.

I know that as a former anorexic, I identified with a lot of what you said in this post.

I tend to lose track of your posts halfway through, though, Jacky, as my eyes tend to skip a line somewhere...

No offense, but it's much easier to read anything if it's broken up into paragraphs.

thanks and sorry, I am sort of trying to figure it out, but have to do some manual driving the words around with my spacer bar..........I am not computer savvy, just ask billi. I fried his lap top cruising porno. I can do this...................................... and this and this, ....................................and that is about it. HELP! i AM an idiot. I appreciate your help peripat. I am sure this post will lead to someones explanation of how to create a REAL paragraph. I also sort of ramble on or jump topics strangely and confuse people as well when vocalizing, I am ADD, but have never tried standard medications. just some opiates.

Jacky, I am hardly the person to be a grammar nazi!

Many of my sentences throw syntax out the window. I can, however, spell, and make a fairly lucid presence of myself on the internet.

If you'd like, I can help you out with the 'zine you're trying to write - technologies like Skype can enable us to talk in real time, and for me to rattle down your general ideas - then we can email stuff backwards and forwards until you're happy with it. (oh, and I can also probably persuade the government-run needle exchanges around here, in my state and states south, to stock it. If you want me to, that is!)

Just an idea... get back to me via PM if you would like my help at any stage.

And you've never struck me as unintelligent, Jacky. Your chemical knowledge puts mine to shame, and bi11i's technical computer knowledge leaves both of us looking like techno-Luddites! The gift is in knowing where to turn.

Cheers,
Peri.

verry interesting. To put it like this....i extensively study spirituality...and fasting is one of the MAJOR components of the spiritual tradition i study. I study monks that fast for extremely long periods of time...and what you are explaining fits into alot of what i have studied and what i experience firsthand.
Cool contribution....cool stuff.

Wow that makes so much sense! I've always been taught to fast before a cactus trip and those have been the best ones.

Making a paragraph

First get a nice bunch of words together that relate specifically to one topic, making sure it's worded properly and will connect logically with the following and previous paragraph. Make a gap in between each one by pressing the enter button at the end (after a full stop, exclimation mark, colon or question mark). Here's what hapens when you press the enter button twice:

As you can see thwe words have dropped two lines down. I'll do it again.

The enter button is situated to the right of the main bit of the keyboad above the shift button (the one you have to press to make capital letters and words like $#@&*). On my computer there's also a little turbo button near by that I've never noticed. I might have to press it. Fuck it doesn't do anything!

Enjoy paragraphs!:D

I don't eat when withdrawing not because of any psychoactive effects, but because of the gastrointestional ones!
