So your not suposed to take more then 4,000 mg of tylenol a day, does this have to be split up over a given period of time or can taking it to close together cause harm?

The max is 4 grams a day or 4000mg.

It is hard to say if taking it all at once or close together will cause liver damage, but anything over the max dose daily could cause some liver damage, especially if taken long term.
If you are taking 4 grams a day or more, I would suggest avoiding alcohol. It increases the risk for liver damage and if your concerned about this, then drinking should be avoided while taking acetominophen.

Maybe asking your doc for something that does not contain tylenol would be a good idea, especially if your going to be taking more than prescribed. Maybe telling him that Tylenol upsets your stomach would work.

I know you have posted on this before regarding your concerns and if it is indeed a concern, than avoid taking more than prescribed.
It is really hard to say whether or not it will harm you. Those with a history of liver disease or those who drink daily, should avoid Tylenol, even more so in high doses.
I don't want to say it won't hurt to take it as you stated in your post. I would imagine that someone healthy, without liver disease would be OK taking a bit more than prescribed or taking them closer together. Then again, I would recommend not taking the combinations.

If your not comfortable with it, then trust your instinct and look for something else to get you high. Or as I said, talk with your doc and tell him the Tylenol makes you sick. Maybe telling him that Tylenol on it's own makes you sick and now your having problems. Just a suggestion.

Good luck
