Ecstacy for US troops!!

Now that the DEA is allowing limited testing on human subjects suffereing from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome with the drug ecstacy (look up information regarding this on the Multidiscineplanary Association for Psychedelic Studies website) it looks like Doctors working with the militarys veterans who suffer from post traumatic stress syndrome want to extend these studies to veterans of the gulf and Iraqui wars. sounds good to me. It possibly could help this obviously beneficial and relatively low risk substance to gain a foothold in pharmacotherapy once again.

I take issue with the "low risk" part of this, as I believe ecstacy's been shown to wear away serotonin receptors permanently...

hmmm. I know it definitely has some effects on depleting the serotinin system. even tryptophan causes some neurotoxicity, and that is the amino acid that turns into serotonin. ecstacy is deadly for a small number of people who have a certian enzyme deficiency as well.............
