View Full Version : Nano-technology and opiates making love

Cant sleep tonight so like a ripe banana my brain needs peeling.

What I think I know:
-Nano-tech involves microscopic machines that could supposedly hop on into your bloodstream and remove cancers and do assloads of other things that a scalpel and a pair of tongs cant accomplish.

-Tolerance to opiates is due to an increase in receptors in the Mu and Kappa region and this is why you need more of whatever you need.

I think I got the general idea when it comes to both topics and I'm positive 90% of the people on this forum could elaborate and/or correct what I think I know about opiate tolerance...Regarless if I have the general idea than thats all that matters in relation to this thread.

To the point:
I was just thinking that maybe in the future it will be possible for these nano-robots to take a trip to Mu and Kappa's side of town. Once there they could hang out for awhile and lure these extra receptor dicks into a false sense off security then BANG! when they least expect it chop the fuckers off at the root.
So basically would it be possible to physically alter the brain with Nano-technology so as to revert an addict to the tolerance he/she had before ever using?
Forget the Nano part even and lets just go with the question is there hypothetically any chance you could manipulate the part of the brain that develops tolerance?

Or are there to many things that we dont know, on the subject of tolerance, to answer these assinine questions of mine...

...still not sleepy... oh and look at that it's 3:55am and I normally get in the shower at 4:30am for work... what to do?

why not just use the nanobots to activate receptors directly? nano-mechanical drugs.

Hi Black dog, LOL (see I am getting the hang of this computer jargon!)
Anyway I remember Mork and Mindy too!! Can't say either Mork or Mindy did it for me but there u go I was a mere babe in arms at the time!!

My doctor recently explained the addiciton thing to me like this: when you use a lot of dope the number of receptors goes down. That's why it takes more and more to get you off, cause there are fewer sites for the opies to hit; it's amatter of concentration to reach the same number of sites. And when you are in recovery you build those receptor site numbers back up. Now I had never in my years of using heard this scenario before, and whether this is a good description or not, don't know. And if it is, don't know how it works with nanu-nanu technology. Not well, I think. Somebody here--jacky or candy maybe?--should be able to elaborate more. Hey, what was the name of the Jonathon Winters character on Mork and Mindy? I can't think of it.

That's a bit of an oversimplification of the factors at work in opiate tolerance....hopefully someone can post a more detailed explanation?

I allways thort it was the opisit to what codfish is saying
also that the receptorst get stuck in the Ope you are using's shape, onley for a few days thus you natrul endorphins dont bined i think
its allso that your body stops making endorphins i think
